Calico kittens & cats in Taylor Mill, Kentucky

"Kitty" is the easiest-going cat I’ve ever met. She is affectionate with everyone, comes when her name is called and is easily bribed with treats. She even likes to play fetch! She is an indoor/outdoor cat and is very low maintenance and self-sufficient, but still loves being around people. She was raised around dogs but usually finds them too energetic to play with. She has also been around livestock and chickens. She is about 6 years old and is a short-haired, black and orange calico. She has been spayed and is declawed on her front paws.

This is Tatoo, she is a sweetheart, she is felv/fiv negative, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and on flea prevention. We got called about another senior in over her head.  Not only can she not afford vet cat but the living conditions are very poor.  We took 4 of the kittens to the vets 2 days ago for vet care.  Yesterday the mother and father cats got spayed/neutered.  Today another male cat neutered.  Tomorrow another male neuter. Now she told him there are 15 more cats/kittens.  She told him only 1 more adult female and 1 kitten female.  Our vet is able to neuter another male tomorrow.  The poor cats/kittens all are flea infested, have worms and ear mites.  We will be working on getting everyone spayed/neutered as fast as we can.  We will get them all treated for fleas, worms and ear mites.  We will be getting them all tested and vaccinated. They are all sweet as they can be.  I little shy at first but the minute you start loving them they are love bugs. UPDATE, Spooky is so sweet and loving. She is doing great and was able to get her vaccines , she is felv/fiv - negative. She is now spayed and micro chipped with Home Again finished her vaccines now good until next year. Spooky is eating well, finished her antibiotics and yesterday she did not need her sub Q fluid. She is still so malnourished but in one week she gained 1lb and 2 oz. Spooky is so happy and loving. At Spooky vet appointment today, she was just loving everyone and purring through her entire exam and vaccines. Spooky specially loved Jill one of our favorite vet techs. Spooky is felv/fiv negative, dewormed, first set vaccines and is scheduled to be spayed and micro chipped with Home Again on the 28th. This little girl was adopted and returned. She seems to get stressed out with other pets and then does not use her litter box. She has had a few accidents since being returned BUT, we took her to the vet Thursday Oct 19, 2023 and think we have a solution. The vet ran blood work, did a urinalysis, and xrays to insure that nothing is physically wrong. He thinks this is behavioral and her way to showing she is upset, anxious, and out of sorts. He has put her on Fluoxetine (Prozac). Fluoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It works by keeping serotonin levels higher in the body, which can help to improve mood and a sense of well-being. She is only on 1/4 of a pill so over the course of a year, it costs about $50-$60. Worth every penny. She is a very slender, siamese-build, and petite kitty. We have tried her in a home with other pets, now we are going to consider adopting into a more quiet, less active environment. With a low key household, we are hopeful that over time and once she has adjusted, you can wean her off the meds. Just like people, we only want to use meds if it is necessary.
