She was found wondering near the river and we brought her home, nursed her to health and got her updated on shots, chipped, and spayed. She’s sweet and loves cuddles, but little kids aren’t her favorite. She loves a calm environment.

Chai is around 6 months old. She is super sweet and seems to loce affection. She does well with other cats, but we are unsure about dogs right now. She would be a purrfect companion for any family! If you would like to adopt Mocha go to www.barktownrescue.org.    CHAI'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100.The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Sweet Tessa has had a rough time of late. She had a lovely safe home where she felt adored but suddenly they no longer wanted her and she returned to the Humane Society. It will take an exceptional home for the Humane Society to trust for her care again. She deserves better than what she was dealt.
