Story
Mellow is a VERY sweet girl!! The absolute dream cat honestly. She does great with dogs and people of all ages!!! Can be a little picky about her cat friends but does tolerate them very well once she’s used to them. She would absolutely LOVE a back yard to explore tho it is not a must as long as she has a window to perch in and look out of! She is a vocal girl who will let you know what she wants or just to chat lol. Her favorite thing to do is find a nice napping spot, whether that may be the back of the couch or your chest. Head scratches will be demanded and she won’t take no for an answer lol. Shes not a cat who has to have someone around 24/7 as long as she’s got human companionship from time to time so would be good for someone who may travel a lot!! Shes around 8 I’m unsure of her exact age. Her only flaw is she MUST be on a UR only diet. She does really well with the purina bought from local stores like Walmart, Petsmart, ect. She will come with what’s left of the bag I have!

I got Sissy in 2017.I’v been having Sissy since she was 6 weeks old.She is 9 years old. She’s a indoor cat and she’s never been outside only to take to her Vet visits and recently when I moved she's never had a litter and she’s never been bred.Or has been around other cats. She’s has been raised with my miniature rat terrier dog.He is also 9 years old and they’ve always gotten along well.

Story
This is Cinder, a young calico I found as a kitten under a friend's house. She's a very sweet cat but has had some trouble adjusting. She doesn't let people touch her and shows clear anxiety when me or another human is near but she gets along fine with my other cat. I've wanted to take her to the vet to see if some anxiety meds would help, but I'm very low-income.The only time she has been remotely hostile is when we had to move apartments and I had to get her in a carrier. I am moving again soon but this time much further. I am worried about the logistics of moving her so far when she is already having such a hard time. I worry her lashing out at the other cat if they are both in one carrier and having us dangerously cramped in the front seat with 2. I think she is a good cat. I think she just needs someone who can spend the time and care with her she needs. Or at the very least someone sticking in one spot for a while.

Story
Beautiful Callie, A Chill Mellow Cat Contact: dcmcats@yahoo.com Callie is a beautiful tortoiseshell cat who showed up and had 3 kittens before she could be spayed. She is a sweet low key girl who likes to chill out and spend her days cuddling in her various cat beds cuddling her stuffed animal toys-her favorite being lamb chop! She does not like to be alone. Callie loves being inside having people and soft beds and plenty to eat. She is fluffy with medium length fur and is very soft. She very much enjoys hanging out with people and being pet and sitting next to her humans, but not sitting on your lap and is not too fond with getting picked up. But Callie is happy to be brushed and pet all day long! She is ok with other mellow cats but doesn’t seek out other kitties. She will play occasionally play with wand toys but really prefers to chill with you. She will watch what you do and is a quiet kitty. Callie would be a great choice for someone as a companion cat for someone or a couple who have a quiet home and like to chill out or for an older person who prefers relaxing to partying. She is a beautiful and healthy cat! Callie had a full blood panel done and is fully vaccinated and tested negative for both Feluk and FIF. She had some surgery on her for an injury when she was rescued but it has healed completely. Please send an email to dcmcats@yahoo.com for an application and include a little about yourself and your household, and what your typical daily and weekend schedule is like, so we can help you decide if Callie is your perfect cat!

Story
Hi there, I’m Pursey!I’m a beautiful little lady dressed in white, orange, and black — basically nature’s way of giving me the perfect outfit. But the real showstoppers? My gorgeous orange-gold eyes. People always notice them right away, and I can’t blame them… they’re pretty magical if I do say so myself.I have a sweet, gentle spirit and a quiet kind of charm. I love spending time with my people, soaking up attention, and looking up at you with those bright eyes that seem to say, “Hi… I’m so glad you’re here.” I’m the kind of cat who makes a house feel warm just by being in it.Whether I’m lounging nearby, keeping you company, or simply gazing at you with my glowing eyes, I promise to bring a little extra beauty and love into your life every single day.I’m Pursey, and I can’t wait to find the person who will look into my golden eyes and know we’re meant to be.________________________________________________If you would like to meet one of our adoptables or learn more about them, please submit an application at https://animalrescueneworleans.org/adoptfoster/.**Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment only after your application is approved.
