Story
Meet Nala. Nala is a sweet playful girl. She loves a good cuddle, but also loves to jump at string and chase her tail. Nala is about 3 years old. Due to no fault of her own she is looking for a new home that will give her the love and opportunity to be the only cat in the house. Nala dose fine with our male cat but after our female cat was found (went missing before we got Nala) and was returned home, Nala has not been pleased with Julie’s return. They don’t fight but Nala is very tense and stressed, sometimes peeing on the floor. As hard as it is to give Nala up, we know it’s not fair for her to live in a home that makes her stressed with another female cat.

Story
Meet Mew! When Mew first came to us as a stray, we were concerned with her condition. She came in with infected eyes and wounds over her face (see photo). After she got some love, care, and medications, she improved in just a few days!  Mew does need a special home. She tested positive for FIV which stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. This means she will have a weakened immune system which can lead her to be more prone to infections. Despite this, she can still live a full and happy life! FIV is transmitted to other cats via bite wounds. While we do not think Mew would bite another cat, this isn't something we can control and we want to keep everyone protected. Therefore, we will not adopt her out to a home that has cats in the home *unless* if they are also FIV positive. She can go to a home with dogs as FIV cannot be transmitted to dogs.  Mew is positive for roundworms which is common in kittens. She is undergoing dewormer treatment. Roundworms can be transmitted to other animals and to people (rarely) via ingesting the contaminated feces. We recommend keeping her litter box clean and her paws clean after using the litter box until there is a negative fecal test. We believe Mew is about 8 weeks old. She is beautiful, sweet and full of spunk! The $125.00 adoption fee ( payable by cash or check only ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Cats for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application.  Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption. Story
Meet Fluffy, a sweet little princess who is loving life indoors! Fluffy showed up outside someone’s home this spring, and when they reached out for help getting her spayed, it quickly became clear that she was far too sweet to return to life outside. Thankfully, Fluffy agrees and absolutely loves being an indoor kitty! At around 18 months old, Fluffy is affectionate, playful, and full of personality. She loves being petted and she’ll even grace your lap with her presence for a cuddle. When she’s feeling playful, she’ll zoom around the room before looking back at you as if to ask, “How did I do?!" With her beautiful green eyes, happy purrs, and sweet nature, Fluffy seems genuinely grateful to be safe and loved indoors. Now she’s ready for a forever home where she can keep living the princess life she deserves.

Story
Ballerina is a beautiful, 1 year old pastel calico with a resilient spirit and a heart full of love. This sweet girl has already overcome more than any cat ever should, but she hasn’t let that dim her joyful outlook on life. After suffering a severe injury to her front leg (likely from being clipped by a car), Ballerina underwent a leg amputation. Despite everything she endured, she bounced back remarkably quickly. Within just two days of surgery, she had regained her balance and was confidently moving around on three legs. She shows no signs of slowing down and doesn’t seem bothered by her amputation at all. Ballerina is incredibly affectionate and absolutely adores attention. She has been described as a dog in a cat’s body because she seeks out people and loves being petted. She’ll even stand up on her back legs to get closer for pets, head bumps, and affection. She welcomes being picked up and carried around like the little princess she is and rewards her favorite people with loud purrs and endless gratitude. She has been an excellent litter box user, adapts beautifully to life as a tripod, and continues to amaze everyone she meets with her resilience and loving nature. All Ballerina needs now is a forever home where she can be cherished and spoiled. Let Ballerina dance her way into your heart and show you just how much love one little tripod can give!

Story
LeBron is one half of a bonded pair of the two sweetest brothers you could ever find. These beautiful boys look like twins but they have different birth dates within 5 days of each other. LeBron was born on 8/30/2025 and Jordan was born on 8/25/2025. It was meant to be that they would be together and these two bonded brothers must be adopted together. Perhaps you can guess why they received their names. At 10 months old, they are both loving, playful youngsters with lots of joy to share. They have the best characteristics you could ask for in a bonded pair. They will happily sit on your lap and cuddle with you but they also enjoy playing especially catnip toys, balls, and toys on strings. In pictures, it’s hard to tell these sweet boys apart since they look so much alike but in person you can see their distinct features. LeBron has the more triangular face with yellow eyes and a bigger white patch on his chest. Jordan has a rounder face with round green eyes and a smaller white patch. Both cats love everyone and they are fine with being picked up even by kids. We don’t know how they are with other animals as they have only lived with each other but with proper introductions, it may be just fine. LeBron is a little bit more of a greeter than his brother. He is very social and he talks when he wants your attention and purrs a lot. He is super sweet and always wants to be with you and he would lay and nap on your chest all day. He will be sure to let you know when he wants attention and when it’s time to play with him. These bonded brothers will go to their new home with all the supplies you need for a great start. Ask us about them today!

Story
Meet Ghoulia Yelps! This beautiful black and white girl is a friendly companion who enjoys spending her days out in her room and greeting new visitors. When someone stops by, she’ll stretch out to investigate with a curious sniff before deciding she’s ready for attention. Ghoulia loves gentle pets, especially around her shoulders, and is quick to show her happiness with a soft purr. She can be a little unsure when hands approach her face, so she appreciates a slow and thoughtful approach that lets her come to you. Once she feels comfortable, she’s happy to enjoy the affection. Ghoulia is looking for a patient family who will respect her boundaries and let her confidence continue to grow. We don’t have any history of Ghoulia living with other cats, dogs, or children, so slow introductions are recommended if she joins a home with other family members.

Story
Flo is a calico cutie. She is 6 years old (born 5/13/2020) and she is looking for a new home as an only cat where she won’t get stressed and intimidated by other cats as she was in her first home. We don’t know for certain but she may do okay with a laid-back, gentle dog as there was one in her original foster home that she didn’t seem to be bothered by but that was about three years ago. This very sweet girl will most likely hide initially when she geos to a new home until she feels safe but once she is comfortable, she will happily roll over for belly rubs and she loves giving you head bumps. At vet appointments, she is a staff favorite because of how loving and sweet she is. She has become quite a bit of a talker and she enjoys sleeping at the end of the bed each night and likes to sit next to her person when they are reading or relaxing. She will occasionally nip her person for no obvious reason so an experienced cat person will be a good fit for her. She will appreciate a cat tree with a scratching post and a scratch pad. Flo likes to play fetch with small toys like a dog and she is a pro at chasing a laser light. She will do best in a quiet home with a family who understands that she will need some adjustment time to feel safe and comfortable. Even in her most scared moments, she is a sweet cat who enjoys being petted and getting attention. Are you willing to share a life full of play, love and companionship with this cutie? Ask us about her today.
