Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Taz was born to Mama in early spring, 2024.  She is a beautiful girl who helped  Mama take care of the second litter (Ginny, Juniper, Jasper, ad Jojo!).  The pic shown of Taz was taken a few hours after her spay--thus the "wild" look! All of these cats were rescued by a concerned Austinite who took care of them until we had room.  Taz is spayed and current on shots.  She has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV.  We are looking for an indoor only home for this girl.  She is a very shy cat and will need someone who has lots of  patience.  Adoption fee is $80 and she will be adopted as an indoor cat only.  To meet Taz or any of our cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online application.  We will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time.  Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN.  We are located off of I-90 via exit 180B to 218 SOUTH.  We are just past our local airport.  Thanks.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2026, 3:05 pm

Story
Felix and his siblings came to us after being found as strays when they were around two months old. We believe Felix was born in August of 2021, and would do well with older children and other animals with proper introduction. Felix is one of 6 in his litter and he is the shy guy of the group. He is very quiet and a bit reserved, but does like to be petted once he knows you. He also enjoys cuddling with his kitty friends and would prefer to have a feline friend in his new home! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Meet Elliot! Elliot and his siblings came to us after being found as strays. We believe Elliot was born in April of 2023, and would do best in a calmer home with a feline friend to keep him company, and help boost his confidence. Elliot is a gentle fellow, who can be a bit shy with new people at first, but as soon as he sees a friend or sibling getting attention, he moves in for some too! Elliot likes to be petted and will get his quiet purr going in no time! If he isn't snuggled up with a friend or sibling, you will find him in play mode or laying next to wherever you are sitting. He enjoys chasing string toys, stuffed mice, crinkle balls or spring toys! Elliot is a very curious guy that loves to check out new surroundings, and keep an eye on any action that is going on. He can't wait to have a home to call his very own, with a kitty friend or sibling to keep him company! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
Meet Cameron! Cameron came back to us recently when her owner moved and didn't take her along. We believe Cameron was born in April of 2023, and would do well with most ages and other animals with proper introduction. Cameron is a very sweet gal that loves pets and attention! Cameron can be a bit wary of loud noises / fast movements from time to time, but recovers very quickly and is easily comforted with some tailbone scratches or belly rubs! She would prefer to have a kitty friend in her new home, or to take a friend with her when she gets adopted! Cameron can't wait to find her next home! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped.
