Story
Zoey is about 9yrs old. She is affectionate and vocal and greets you like a dog. She loves to cuddle. She's good with not scratching furniture or carpet. She loves cardboard scratching boxes. She's lived with cats and dogs but probably would do best with just one or no others in home. We have found she is highly anxious by our young children. They move too fast and are too loud. She hides and cries out when they are near her. She has been living in the laundry room to help provide her quiet comfort and she is happy. However we are moving and don't have a space in new home to provide an escape. She comes with Breeze litter box and refills. A Breeze Litter Geanie, a soft sided carrier and self food and watter. She would be a GREAT companion for a Senior!!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Ginny! Ginny is a playful little sweetheart who brings sunshine and sparkle everywhere she goes. She adjusted to indoor life like a pro and is truly a joy to have around! While she hasn’t been introduced to dogs or other cats yet, she absolutely adores playing with her siblings. Ginny is an independent girl with a spunky streak, but she’ll happily come find you for affection when she’s ready—usually right after an epic play session. She LOVES her toys, especially bouncy balls, springs, and anything she can zoom through or pounce on. Watching her rocket in and out of the tunnel is entertainment all on its own!  Here’s a cute video of Ginny playing with her siblings. Her days are filled with sunny naps, playful adventures, plenty of treats, and all the attention she decides she wants. With her bright personality and silly antics, Ginny brings energy, smiles, and so much joy to any room she enters. Life is good for this little lady—and it’s even better with her in it! Ginny is from an owner surrender with 2 sisters. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Click here to watch a video of Ginny.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2025, 4:54 pm

Story
I adopted Chloe from the Animal Humane Society last January. She was an owner surrender who had lived with the family since she was a kitten. At the time of the adoption, I wasn't aware that she had 2 other cat companions in the home, and only found out a couple months afterwards when I inquired about why she was still exhibiting characteristics of being lonely. I live alone with no other pets in my house, and have come to the conclusion that she would probably be much happier in a home where she could get more attention then I'm able to give her. I believe she would also enjoy having a cat companion based on her previous experience in her last home Chloe isn't a lap cat, but she is social, usually staying in the same room that I'm in. She will be 6 in January, but still has a lot of energy and enjoys a lot of playtime.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Louise — the gentle, shy sweetheart who’s learning how wonderful the indoor life can be! Louise spent the first 5–6 weeks of her life in a feral colony, and because of that, she’s still finding her confidence with people. She may be timid at first, but she’s also curious, observant, and quietly playful. Pull out a wand toy or a teaser, and you’ll see her little personality sparkle—she absolutely comes alive during playtime, and it’s one of the fastest ways to warm her heart. Louise has made steady progress in the short time she’s been inside. She allows petting, tolerates being picked up, and feels especially secure when she’s in her safe space. She does sometimes run and hide when approached, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she’s showing more and more trust each day. This sweet girl loves treats—especially salmon or tuna puree—and will happily take them right from your hand. She’s also wonderful with other cats and enjoys snuggling up with them or joining in on their games. Louise is also a litter box superstar and has never had an accident. Here’s a cute video of Louise playing and another video for your viewing enjoyment. With a patient, loving home that lets her grow at her own pace, she’ll blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion. She’s a precious little soul who just needs someone willing to help her confidence bloom. Louise is from a stray surrender with one sibling.
