Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This little lady is as sweet as they come! Unfazed by all the chaos of a busy household, she will lay right in the middle of it all. She is totally comfortable with dogs and will even rub up against them and give head butts. She is quite the chatter box, very talkative, especially at mealtime. She will line up with the dog pack in the kitchen hoping for a table scrap while I am cooking. Franny does fine with being picked up for brief periods but so far is not very interested in being held. Have a feeling that will change when she no longer has 5 growing boys constantly jumping on her! Motherhood is exhausting. And did I mention she is drop dead gorgeous? She's got Betty Davis eyes!    Franny is from a stray surrender with her 5 kittens. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2025, 6:58 pm

Story
Leo came to us from a friend who had him as a barn cat. He’s house-trained and frequently around children and other pets. He gets along with our female cat but terrorizes and attacks our older male cat. He is so great with people and kids, very snuggly and playful, but we think he will do best as an only pet. Looking for a safe home to love him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Margo! Margo is a beautiful short-haired calico with striking markings and a personality just as bright. Outgoing, friendly, and endlessly charming, she’s the social butterfly of her family. At four months old, Margo is full of playful energy, loves meeting new people, and brings instant joy wherever she goes. She’s affectionate, curious, and always ready for cuddles or adventure—she adapts quickly and thrives on attention and love. Margo would be thrilled to be adopted with her mom, Pomegranate, or one of her siblings—Percival, Piney, or Onyx. She would also do great in a home with another playful young cat or with humans who enjoy an affectionate, lively companion. If you’re looking for a confident, loving kitten who lights up every room, Margo is the perfect match. Margo is from an owner surrender with Mom and 3 siblings. Story
Rascal was abandoned in a field with his six siblings when he was only four weeks old. Since then, he has thrived and become the playful kitten he was meant to be. Rascal earned his name because of his playful personality. He has a distinct, low, raspy voice that sets him apart from the rest of the group. He loves to play with his siblings and can easily entertain himself. Rascal devours his soft food in record time and is always on the lookout for more, although he will settle for kitten chow when necessary. The vet has dewormed him, but he has not received any other vaccinations at this time. I am offering Rascal for a small fee, with the condition that you, the new owner, will commit to having Rascal neutered to ensure his well-being.

Story
Boots was abandoned in a field with his six siblings when he was just four weeks old. Since then, he has thrived and become the playful kitten he is meant to be. Boots got his name because his paws are pure white. He is very vocal, loves snuggles under your chin, rough-housing with his siblings, and is very curious about the adult cat in our house. He devours his soft food in record time and always wants more, but he will settle for kitten chow as an alternative. The vet has dewormed him, but he has not received any other vaccinations at this time. I am offering Boots for a small fee, with the condition that you, the new owner, will commit to having Boots neutered to ensure his well-being.
