For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. All animals are currently in MS. Mississippi is overpopulated with too many animals, not enough adopters, and many high kill shelters. For Pet's Sake Rescue saves each animal from a different background.  ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations.We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.*** For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other states for better adoption potential. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Each animal is quarantined and vetted during their time in our care. Each adopted pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has current flea treatment unless otherwise noted.  You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org for our full adoption process and adoption application. Once we review your application and check your vet reference, we will contact you to proceed. If both parties agree to the adoption, we will send you an Adoption Contract with an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, your pet is "on hold" for you to pick up or we can transport the pet to a designated location closer to you via transport. Transports are arranged for specific dates. We will discuss these dates and locations with you during the initial phone call.  We are currently unable to adopt pets to MA and RI residents. She is missing her lower teeth, but she had a recent steroid shot to curb inflammation.  With good quality wet food, and a little TLC, she will prove to be worth it. She is full of love and is very affectionate.  She loves to play with her toy mice. She was rescued from street life, now looking for her forever person, and so deserving.  Leukemia/FIV tested negative. Shots current, microchipped. Cinnamon was rescued with her kittens who have been adopted. She is shy and quiet, likes to sit on back of the couch if she’s not hiding underneath it ! lol when company comes over she’s no where to be seen. This gorgeous gal needs a true cat hero to adopt her , who will be patient with her insecurity. She likes to be in quiet places but warms up once feels safe.

Genevieve was rescued for my business where she was being taken care of by several people. She was not in a safe environment and probably was dropped off. The people who found her contacted our rescue to ask for help. she was picked up by one of our volunteers taken directly to the veterinarian to be spayed and vaccinated. Genevieve has lived in a foster home with two other cats and a dog that she doesn’t like.. She’s a great cat, but wants to be an only child. Lily Rose is a beautiful girl who’s had a tough life. You see her previous owners moved off and left her after she had her kittens! A nice lady took them in and asked us to help her find a home . She has been fully vetted and seeks a quiet home,. She would be ok with another cat if it’s gentle! Lilly is a quiet kitty who enjoys a window sill. Probably no small children or dogs. A great companion for a person who is calm and understands cats.

Bombay is affectionate, calm and easy going. He is friendly, loyal and responds to his name ‘Bombay’ with a sweet “meow!” He gets along with other cats but does have a habit to urine spray to show dominance. He is a special needs kitty as he is on daily medication for megacolon. Bombay is on prescription food due to experiencing urinary blockage. Please consider the medical needs and expenses when adopting Bombay. He is a 9-year-old white and black American Shorthair with a cap and saddle pattern. Ally is a beautiful and sweet kitty. She enjoys a window seat as she is mesmerized by the birds and butterflies that flutter before her eyes. Then, Ally seeks out her hammock or a sunny place for an afternoon nap. Ally likes to keep all four paws grounded, she is not fond of being picked up and held; however, with time and patience you may be able to win her over. She welcomes head petting! Ally shows fear and discomfort from loud noises such as vacuum cleaners and thunder. A cat cube of her own would be ideal for her comfort zone. Ally’s ideal home is one with older children. Dot is loving and mischievous. You will find her hanging out on the back of the sofa where she can easily join her human companion for head bunts. Dot will swat with her left paw. She thinks a window blind cord is a play toy. Dot's favorite game is 'catch-me-if-you-can!' She will help herself to your Lasagna. Dot is a 1 year old black and white with a tuxedo pattern.
