Story
Kacy was discovered at a construction site for a house where several cats were being hoarded. Despite her challenging beginnings, she has proven to be an incredibly sweet girl who quickly wins over everyone she meets. One of Kacy's most distinctive features is her bob tail, which makes her stand out from the crowd. She has a gentle disposition and is very affectionate with our volunteers. Among the other cats, Kacy is recognized as the alpha, displaying confidence and leadership. Although Kacy gets along well with people, she would truly thrive as the only cat in a household. She dreams of finding a loving family where she can be the center of attention and share her affection without competition. If you are interested in meeting Kacy and possibly giving her a forever home, please visit our website at kvckr.com to complete and submit an adoption application.March 8, 2026, 6:32 am

Story
Jasmine arrived at the shelter during the summer of 2019, coming from Homer City after a tragic incident in which her mother was struck by a car. While all of her siblings have since found loving families and been adopted, Jasmine is still searching for her forever home. Jasmine's beautiful markings make her a truly unique Calico. Her distinct appearance sets her apart and highlights her individuality among the other cats at the shelter. Over time, Jasmine has become quite independent. She will require patience and understanding from her future family as she adjusts to a new environment. While Jasmine is friendly, she needs time to build trust with people. It is important for her adopters to allow her the space and time she needs to feel comfortable and secure in her new home. If you would like to meet Jasmine and consider welcoming her into your family, please visit our website at kvckr.com to complete and submit an adoption application.March 8, 2026, 6:32 am

Story
💜🐾 258 DAYS. Adoptable Mikala has been waiting for her forever home... And in those 258 days, this beautiful girl has made a HUGE transformation. When Mikala first came to us, she was terrified of human hands. She desperately wanted affection, but something in her past had taught her that a hand reaching toward her was something to fear. Our team discovered that she LOVED a back scratcher. It became her way of accepting the love she so desperately wanted while still feeling safe.So we waited. We gave her time. We respected her boundaries. We let her come around at her own pace. And slowly, over many months, Mikala began to trust us.Now she happily accepts pets from our hands. 🥹💜For Mikala, this isn't a small thing. This is a HUGE milestone. And she has blossomed in other ways, too.Today, Mikala is the welcomer of our catio room. When someone walks in, she gets up and comes to the front of her catio to say hello. She seeks people out and requests pets from anyone who enters. The girl who once couldn't trust a human hand now actively asks humans for affection. We are SO proud of her.But there is one thing we haven't been able to give her yet: A forever home. She has shown us that when she feels safe, she can grow. She has gained confidence in her catio and explores the room, visiting her feline neighbors along the way. Because she seems comfortable around other cats, we think she could do well in a home with a feline friend. She just needs the opportunity to settle into a home, feel safe, and continue her journey with someone who understands that trust takes time.Mikala has already spent 258 days waiting for that person. Please help us find her forever home. 🙏Share her story. Tag someone who might be the right fit. Help us get her in front of the person who will look at Mikala and say, “I'll give you the time you need.”📍 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA📝 Adoption Application:** https://form.jotform.com/213275062626049📧 adoptions@animalprotectors.net📞 (724) 339-7388

Story
🐾💙 Meet Adoptable Loretta — She has been waiting 238 days for someone to give her a chance...When we first introduced you to Loretta, she was a very scared 8-year-old kitty who didn’t trust anyone. Everything felt overwhelming, and she needed time to understand that she was safe. After 238 days with us, Loretta has slowly started to open up. She is now accepting one or two gentle pets at a time from trusted humans—a small step that means so much for a girl who once wanted nothing to do with human touch.Loretta is also becoming more comfortable when visitors come into our catio room. She’ll get up, walk around, and sometimes act like she wants some love. She’s not quite ready to accept that love yet, but the fact that she’s showing interest is incredibly encouraging. 🐱✨But make no mistake—Loretta is still a spicy kitty most of the time still 🌶️🐱 She is very clear when she has had enough and needs her space. Her future foster or adopter will need to be someone who is willing to respect her boundaries, listen to her signals, and give her the space she needs without pushing her.Loretta needs an extremely patient human—someone who understands that trust doesn’t happen overnight and who will celebrate the little victories along the way. She doesn’t need someone to change her; she needs someone willing to meet her where she is.Loretta may continue to blossom once she has the chance to live in a quiet home where she feels safe and secure. She just needs someone willing to give her the time she deserves. ❤️Could you be the person who helps Loretta discover what it feels like to finally be home? 🏡📍 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA📝 Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/213275062626049📧 adoptions@animalprotectors.net📞 (724) 339-7388Please share Loretta’s story. Story
217 Days & Still Waiting for Her Forever Family 💛🐾How is this sweet little girl STILL waiting? 😭 Velma has now been with us for 217 days, and we’re determined to find the family she’s been waiting for!Velma may be petite, but her personality is anything but small! 💕 She’s outgoing, affectionate, and quick to steal your heart. She is the first catio you pass when you enter our catio room, and it doesn’t take long for her to work her magic! 🥹Our volunteers who visit the catio room quickly fall in love with Velma. She’s always ready to greet you, soak up pets, and show off her sweet personality. She also enjoys having feline friends around, too! 🐱💕Velma does have abdominal lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes in her digestive tract) and requires a special diet (Hills prescription hard food) and medication (simply sprinkled on her wet food) that she will likely need long-term. But Velma doesn’t let that slow her down! She is happy, loving, and full of life. 🥰After 217 days, we’d love nothing more than to see this little ray of sunshine finally have a home to call her own. 🏡💛Come meet Velma and see for yourself why she is so easy to love!📍 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA📝 Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/213275062626049📧 adoptions@animalprotectors.net📞 (724) 339-7388
