Good with cats,
Story
Baby Bea is about nine years old and came from an overcrowded situation where she had very little room to romp and play. We think she fell off of a countertop or cabinet at some point because she has an old leg injury with a bit of arthritis in it now. Did we mention shes a calico too? Prepare for some attitude! Baby Bea loves to be stroked down her back from head to tail, but shes still wary of being picked up. She's very independent and spends most of the day lounging and looking pretty. Baby Bea does fine with other felines, but shes not sure about canines quite yet. We cant wait to get her into a home of her own where shell have a chance to finally stretch her legs, express her natural curiosity, and show off her quirky personality!

Story
Tennessee is what we call a cats cat - she LOVES other cats. No matter what they're doing, she loves being around other playful, friendly felines. Shes also never late to meals and will sit patiently for you to give her some wet food! Whats the catch? Tennessee wants nothing to do with human hands unless they are offering a Churu or swinging around a ribbon toy! Shes getting better about trusting, but Tennessee still needs some time to see if pats are good. Shes also indifferent to cat-savvy dogs, and we think shed be ok older kids who respect her space.

Dont have another cat? Rees sister Jane, is also a resident at Scruffys and the two are so much fun to watch play! Rees favorite toys are catnip mice and feathers on a string. She also really likes treats and canned cat food as well as gentle pats and head scratches from her people. Ree was friendly with the small cat savvy dog in her previous foster home.

Story
Hello there, I'm Rachel. I may be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I promise to be the sweetest companion. I'm an independent lady, who loves a good cuddle session but also enjoys my alone time. My gentle and mellow nature makes me the perfect companion for a quiet home. I'm not one for high-energy antics, but I do love a good snuggle. I'll curl up next to you on the couch, purring softly, content in your company. My heart is full of love to give, I just need someone to share it with. Will you be that someone?

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Greetings! I am Blossom I was found as a stray. I was having a hard time of it for sure. Someone was kind enough to rescue me though... WHEW! I am a darling girl that is a bit shy! I enjoy being petted and cuddling on my own terms and I prefer not being held (yet). I have a really nice foster family that has been working on making feel comfortable and safe. They say that I am an absolute sweetheart and super loving. The most amazing thing that has happened is that I met the love of my life... Simon. He is my soulmate and I don't want to ever be without him. He is sooo dreamy! He is a little shyer than I am and would rather not be picked up (yet). He will cuddle on his own terms too. We are two peas in a pod for sure, so don't ask to separate us. We both LOVE to eat, love treats and love to cuddle together. We will squish into the same cube in the cat tree just to be near one another! A calm home would be right up our alley with someone that will give us time to adjust because then you would become one of the luckiest people in the world! You would have us! Love,Blossom & Simon If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. April 27, 2024, 12:43 pm

Story
Tinkerbell is a special kitty. She must have had a very hard life before she came into rescue. She will let you pet her but gets frightened so easy and may hiss at the same time. She is very unsure of herself and lacks confidence. She needs someone that will be patient with her love and willing to work with her. She has the greatest potential to be a wonderful Kitty. Our hope is there someone out there that can see the greatness in her that we can. She is good with other cats.April 29, 2024, 7:49 am
