Initially thought to have been hit by a car, Cecil is battling severe malnourishment, demodex mange, and is heartworm positive. Despite his heartbreaking condition, shelter staff have been amazed by his gentle nature and the affection he shows towards them. Cecil's journey has been a tough one, but his spirit shines through in his willingness to connect with those caring for him. He is in desperate need of immediate foster care to provide him with the love, nourishment, and comprehensive medical attention he requires to heal and thrive once again. If you have space in your heart and home to welcome Cecil and help him on his road to recovery, please reach out to the shelter or rescue organization caring for him. Story
Please meet Melman fka Koko! A8407642.5 year old neutered male, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. This sweet gentle giant is looking for his next foster or foster to adopt home. Named after the goofy, lengthy, wobbly giraffe, Melman is a big boy who is recovering from two hip surgeries. While he is a little wobbly, he gets around just fine on his own and needs a place to continue rehabilitation, gain weight, and strength. Melman takes pain medications and joint supplements nicely and is very food motivated! Melman is a very big Velcro dog who wants to be his humans’s very best friend, a good snuggle and pets on the couch is his idea of the best day ever. Melman has done well in the foster home with both dogs and cats. He does not mind cats at all and would be a very good addition to a home with feline friends! Melman can live with other dogs, but would strive in a home with calm, submissive dogs or where he can have at least one human who can give him the spotlight and all the love. Melman walks well on a leash, has been friendly with all humans, has previously done well with children but we would recommend older children who can respect his recovery. He is house trained. He still needs some work on crate training. Melman has weekly physical therapy and occasional vet visits that at this time are still covered by PACC, along with his current medications. Melman does not do well in the shelter so we would love to get him into his next home by Christmas to avoid going back. Mett Zeus!About: Zeus is a friendly and affectionate 5-year-old dog who was surrendered to PACC on May 1st 2024 due to conflicts with another dog in his previous home.Zeus is a handsome, gentle boy who quickly gained a reputation for being sweet and affectionate with the people here at the shelter. One volunteer said: “Zeus is a cuddle bug! In a yard he just sits next to you with the biggest puppy eyes, begging for pets. He’s a good walker and attentive to the handler. In the kennel he can be jumpy/mouthy. Strong pull to exit. Once he`s away from the noise and stress, he`s the sweetest boy.”Zeus has a history of altercations with other dogs, both in his home and in the shelter. While he has been tolerant in playgroups, he has started altercation when sharing kennel space.Key Requirement:Single-Dog Home: Zeus is best suited for a home without other pets.
