Please contact Heather (hwallace311@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.**Courtesy Post** Boss gets his name honestly. This big boy weighing in around 120 lbs will tell you what to do if you let him. Boss is bossy! He needs a strong leader to guide him. He is very smart and knows sit and down. He is highly motivated by treats. He can be a little mouthy without proper structure and obedience. He really is a sweet lovable guy. He is what I would say a teenager is. You give them room to be disobedient and that’s what they’re gonna do! If you are interested in this pup you can fill out our adoption application and we will reach out to you! https://form.jotform.com/253636917619065April 29, 2026, 8:30 am

A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Papa! Papa is a 1-year-old Presa Canario mix with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. Originally found as a stray and nearly dumped, this handsome boy made his way to us—and we’re so glad he did. Now he’s safe, happy, and ready to find the loving home he deserves. Papa is a sweet, friendly social butterfly who loves meeting new people. He’s always up for a game of fetch, a good run, or anything that lets him stretch his legs and burn off his youthful energy. Once he’s had his exercise, Papa settles into calm, relaxed moments and enjoys simply hanging out with his humans. With his lovable personality, eager spirit, and gentle nature, Papa is the perfect mix of playtime fun and post-adventure cuddles. He’s ready to bring joy, companionship, and excitement to his future family. If you’re looking for an active, affectionate, and loyal companion, Papa might be your perfect match. Come meet him—you won’t regret it! Papa currently weighs about 60lbs., is approximately 1 years old (est. birth date 10/23/2024), and his adoption fee is $185. Papa has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Papa, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. We are located at:1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd Danielsville, GA 30633 706-795-2868NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption. If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.

Story
EVIE ~~ Cane Corso, Spayed Female, Black, DOB: 8/4/2020, 93lbs If you're a fan of Cane Corso's and giant breeds, consider meeting Evie and adding her to your family. Evie's had a rough time lately and is looking for a great family to help her deal with the recent death of her owner. She's staying with us while we find her a new home. Evie's a very special girl and we want her to go to the best possible home after such a traumatic life event. OTHER PETS OR KIDS? It's best that Evie be the only pet in your household. She would prefer to have all of the attention, food and toys for herself. If there are children in the house, Evie will do best in a home with teenagers who are old enough to understand her need for personal space. We don't recommend that Evie live in a home with other dogs, cats or exotics. ABOUT HER PERSONALITY: Evie's treat/food motivated and may be interested in learning some commands. She's sweet and affectionate with people she knows. She is somewhat shy around people she is unfamiliar with. It's a learning curve for her, because she genuinely likes people and wants to be friends. If you can help Evie work through this and everything she's been through, then you are truly an angel and Evie would love to meet you! Ideally, she would need to meet several times with a potential adopter prior to going home ~~ just to make sure she is fully comfortable. She does warm up quickly during the Meet and Greets! FUN FACTS ABOUT EVIE: Evie is physically strong, enjoys going for walks (she's great on the leash!), napping, going for rides in the car and playtimes. She'll need to have a fenced backyard to run around in and does enjoy daily exercise of some sort (going for a walk, playing with toys in the yard, etc.). Once she has had her daily exercise, Evie is ready to chill for the remainder and would make an excellent companion for watching movies or marathoning your favorite TV show. Evie is a very well behaved girl, smart and loyal to her family and protective of her pack. MEDICAL: Evie is healthy, microchipped, current on vaccines and vet services, and has a negative heartworm and negative fecal test. Her adoption fee is $153 and includes one month of Simparica Trio to go home (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites). She should remain on this medication once per month for the rest of her life to keep her healthy, happy and heartworm free! Evie is definitely ready to get out of the cage and back into a home. If you're interested in setting up a Meet and Greet to get to know her give us a call first. You will need to schedule a date and time to meet her. Ask for Jessica, Sawyer, Kyle and Mark when you schedule a meeting to be sure they are available to introduce you and answer any questions you may have. 770.475.8272 Monday to Friday 630AM to 7PM. Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We are closed on all major holidays. Please visit at least two hours prior to closing. Adoptions are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Story
1 year old | ~80 lbs | Big puppy energy, bigger heart If you’re looking for a whole lotta dog wrapped up in joy, enthusiasm, and slobbery kisses—Elmer is your guy. At just a year old and already tipping the scales at around 80 lbs, Elmer is a big bundle of puppy love who’s still very much growing into himself. He’s currently in training and is eager, food-motivated, and ready to learn, which makes him a blast for someone who enjoys working with their dog and watching progress happen in real time. Elmer is: 🐶 Dog friendly 👧 Great with kids 🧠 Smart, motivated, and actively training 💛 Affectionate, happy, and full of life Because of his size, energy, and breed traits, Elmer is looking for a home with someone who understands large-breed dogs and is ready to give him what he truly needs—structure, consistency, continued training, and outlets for both his body and brain. In return, you’ll get a loyal companion who’s all in on being your best friend. Elmer isn’t just a dog—he’s a project in the best way. If you’re ready for a big, joyful, loving pup who will thrive with guidance and commitment, Elmer is ready to meet you.
