Story
Max is a wonderful dog that was bought by my daughter as a puppy 3 years ago. My daughter graduated from college and moved to Virginia to start a new job and tried to live with Max in a one bed room apartment while working in an office with a 45 minute commute. This was not a good environment for an active dog that needs exercise. We brought him back to Georgia and would like to rehome him to an environment where he will get enough attention. We already have 2 dogs and 2 cats and don’t have the capacity to give him what he needs. We do not want to rehome him to someone in an apartment. ideally, he’ll be rehomed to someone with land/space so he can thrive. He is being trained at ADZK9 for some possession issues. ADZK9 will provide the new owner with unlimited retraining sessions if required. Max is a great dog who deserves the right home so he can flourish. Thank you

Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Story
I’ve been in my current home for around 6 years and I’ve been very happy here, but I’m ready to find someone new! I’m a very loving dog and I’ll make sure to keep our space safe. I love to snuggle up on the couch but I also love to be outside. I love “hugs” (leaning against people’s legs). Throughout my life I’ve had increasing anxiety that’s making it hard for me to live with other pets. I need an experienced owner who can handle my anxiety and stressors. I would do best with a male owner with a calm demeanor. I don’t want to be around other pets or children, but I’d probably do well as a guard dog on a farm. At the very least, I need a fenced in yard! I like to be able to patrol my territory and keep an eye on everything outside.
