Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we are over capacity and short staffed, we try to get back to everyone quickly, it may be 4-5 days. *Available for adoption after 10/3/23, we would love to get meet and greets set up now*** Meet Kataya, 3-4yr old, Cane Corso, soon to be spayed female. Kataya came in as a stray, we can only assume from her physical appearance she was used only for breeding and most likely was not supplying puppies anymore, so she was dumped. Kataya has all the personality traits of a Cane Corso, stubborn, loyal, sweet, intelligent, gentle, protective and amazing. We have all fallen in love with this girl. Kataya would prefer to be the only dog in the home, with a fenced yard, no cats and small children are very scary for her. She needs an owner who has Cane Corso experience and understands their personalities. She would love a home where she can stretch out and lay in the sun, where she can be spoiled with treats, tons of toys, nice soft squishy beds. My adoption fee is $150, this includes: Spay, vaccines, microchip, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1lb bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many people and ages live in your home? 3. How many animals, types and ages live i your home? 4. Have you owned a Cane Corso before? If yes, please tell us about the Cane Corso(s) you've owned. 5. What would a normal day look like for Kataya? 6. Do you own or rent?

These pups are in Vancouver, Washington too!

Story
Meet Koopa! He is a 2 year old neutered male, Australian shepherd/ cattle dog/blue heeler mix. He is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. He has lived with dogs, kids, and cats before. Currently he is the only dog in the home and lives in an apartment. He will do much better with a resident dog to play with and a bigger space. He does chase cats in the home but that may improve with another dog in the home. He does have anxiety, which is worsened by his current situation. Recently he spent some time with a friend who lives in a bigger space with a backyard and has another dog; he did exceptionally well! Very little anxiety symptoms present during that time. Right now his anxiety presents as: Separation anxiety Defecating in the home As I said he did not display any of these signs when staying in a bigger space with a backyard and a resident dog to play with. Having an owner who works from home is ideal! He also loves kids and would love to go to a family if possible!
