Story
Say hello to Tinkerbell - this sweet Cane Corso girl is estimated to be about 2-3 yrs old and originally came from California to start a new life in Colorado. She's naturally suspicious of strangers and doesn't always shine at first meeting, but warms up to calm and gentle understanding of her special breed. Once she knows you, she enjoys attention and getting out for sniffy walks. She would do best as the only pet in the home. And just given her size and strength, it would also be best to have a calm and stable home without small children (older kids is OK). Tinkerbell recently had corrective surgery for "cherry eye" in both eyes, but will need another repair on them (this cost will be covered by Big Bones). Sadly, due to the stressful environment of the shelter, Tink's first cherry eye surgery didn't hold, but once she is adopted and in a calm environment in a home, Big Bones will have her cherry eye repair done again. It should have a much more successful outcome, and she will be thrilled to be able to have good visibility again! Sadly she just hit 113 days in our rescue and would REALLY love and benefit to have a home of her very own! She is ready to start the next chapter in life with her hero. Is it you? Previous handling experience with Cane Corso or other guardian breeds is advised. They require: - A structured home - Clear leadership - Firm (but fair) boundaries - Consistency every single day - An owner who understands canine behavior (not just “loves dogs”) -An owner who knows how to anticipate and manage their protective instinct

These pups are in Cheyenne, Wyoming too!

Ace is a goofball that loves life and takes nothing seriously. Except treats. Treats are serious business! He would do best in a single-family home with a high fenced back yard. He’s a moose and a 4-foot fence to him is like you and me stepping over a mushroom. And he has been known to take self-guided tours around his neighborhood. Ace has never lived with cats and kids before, but honestly your cats may plot your demise if you bring him home and your kids better be the size of a pro football linebacker to deal with this moose when he comes thundering through the house. We suggest a home with no cats (for everyone’s sake) and children willing to withstand Hurricane Ace when he comes to play. He will need a crate or a secure location when he is left to his own devices at home. Why you ask? Giant dog plus all alone in home equals college student house party without the extra bodies to add to the chaos. Trust us crates will save your couch. He is house trained, and polite enough to wait to go out, but schedules will make a big difference in what you have waiting if you ignore him. He has met dogs here at the shelter as well at his previous home, and let’s just say size matters. Ace loves all size dogs, but do all size dogs love Ace? He would probably do best with dogs above the 40-pound weight and smaller dogs just don’t seem to enjoy meeting a T-Rex running at them at 20 mph, and small dog owners will probably have a heart attack watching Ace bound over like some dysfunctional antelope in their tiny dog’s direction. Don’t get us wrong with a face and personality we know that is a family looking for a giant lap dog that will drool all over your legs after he drinks water. Think you are up for it? Then come me Ace before he lobs off into the sunset…with a leash and collar this time not like Crocodile Dundee on a walk about.
