Story
Tai Tai is a very lovable dog that just needs a family that would just give her the attention she deserves and needs. She does not do well with any other animals or children. We rescued her in 2020 from the Pensacola hurricane and we have had her for five years and we feel we have come a long way to help heal her but she, being around children now that we have 4 new grandbabies, has taken its toll on her and we can tell she is not comfortable with the change. She loves to cuddle, give kisses, sleep and LOVES basking in the sun. She LOVES walks! Potty trained, understands several commands including “go potty!” She is 8 years old and we just want her to have a great rest of her dog years being loved.

Story
Hi, I’m Everly — 2 years old lady, about 55 lbs, and the kind of dog who fits right into real life. I'm living with a wonderful Foster family who has another pup and they all love me because I’m fun, loyal, and affectionate! I love getting out for walks, hanging on the patio, and then settling in for relaxed evenings at home. I’m social, easygoing, and genuinely happy just being part of the day. Oh, and I'm super smart...ask to see the video my Foster family took of me showing off all the commands I know! I’d be a great adventure buddy for hikes, road trips, and exploring new places, and I’m equally content unwinding afterward. I can thrive as your one-and-only, or I’d love to share my home with another friendly dog who wouldn’t mind a built-in playmate or a snuggle pal. What makes me special: 🐾 Affectionate, loyal, and happily independent when needed 🐾 Social when it’s time to engage, relaxed when it’s time to chill 🐾 Great meeting kids (best with kids 5+ or dog-savvy kiddos with good manners) 🐾 Knows tons of commands — sit, down, heel, stay, and place 🐾 Loves daily walks and enjoys sniffing out new environments 🐾 Does well with other friendly dogs 🐾 Fully potty trained 🐾 Crate trained 🐾 Calm, quiet car rider 🐾 Patio-lounging pro 🐾 A+ evening snuggler I'm healthy, up to date on all my vaccinations and I'd love a fenced-in yard would be a bonus so I can run, play, and explore between walks. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue.com) to get lots more pics and videos of me.

Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Florence (Flora), 3 years old, spayed female, Carolina Dog mix, 46 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved. Florence, affectionately nicknamed, Flora, Flory, Lory, or Sweetpea, is a playful and energetic dog who loves to wrestle and be chased. She would do best in a home with dogs of similar size and energy level. When playing, Flora could play for hours. She loves to interact with another dog in the home, Furman by licking his face. Flora has experience playing with dogs ranging from a 35-pound Cocker Spaniel to a 60-pound Pyrenees mix. Flora requires slow and guided introductions to other dogs. She has shown some leash reactivity, exhibiting behaviors like raised hair, whimpering and barking. Her foster parents have worked with her on this behavior. It did take her some time to befriend the resident pup, and Flora may do best as the one and only in the home. Flora’s compatibility with cats is unknown. She adores the 8-year-old child in the home, but is nervous of new children. Flora does have stranger danger when new people come into the home, and tends to bark at them, especially when they move around quickly. Because of her fear, she may prefer an adult household at this time. As mentioned, Flora has some leash reactivity and gets easily spooked, often pulling a lot. However, she has made progress with positive reinforcement and minimal stimuli. She walks much better in calm environments with less activity. She will need consistent training to help her with her leash skills and feeling safe around new dogs and stimuli. Flora is fully housebroken. She has demonstrated some anxiety in the crate at home. When her foster parents have gone out of town she has gone to boarding where she is crated with no issues. At home, she is able to be out of a crate and unsupervised with zero issues. She is fed separately from the other dogs in the home. Otherwise, she shares her toys well and has no issues with people and food, although she needs reminders to take treats gently. Flora has high energy needs and requires dedicated outdoor playtimes to do well inside the home. She thrives in a moderately active home with regular outdoor play sessions. She loves playing with the resident dog, bucking around the yard, eating, going for walks, sunbathing, and birdwatching. She is a total love bug and enjoys snuggling. She does well in the car but is terrified of storms, often seeking shelter in a closet or burying her head in a lap. Flora’s ideal home would be with someone who is often around, enjoys walks or jogs, and will play fetch with her. A home with no other pets or a well balanced dog of similar age, size, and energy level would be ideal. Flora needs an owner who will continue positive reinforcement to help with her anxiety. Flora is very smart, loves learning new tricks, and is very submissive and affectionate. She may be a work in progress, but will reward you with love and companionship for years to come! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Meet Cloud — Gentle, Loyal, Goofy, and Ready for His Silver Lining There’s something truly special about Cloud — a soft, loyal soul with a heart as big as the sky. He’s 9 months old, right in that perfect in-between stage where he still has puppy playfulness but is learning every day how to be the best boy he can be. Cloud and his siblings, known as the Weather Crew, came from an unimaginable start. They were seized from a heartbreaking animal-abuse and hoarding case involving more than 25 dogs. Their mother and father didn’t make it, but Cloud and his littermates were the lucky ones who survived — and they’ve been waiting in the shelter ever since they were just 8 weeks old for a real home, soft bed, and gentle hands. Now neutered, heartworm negative, and fully up-to-date on vaccines and preventions, Cloud is healthy, clean, and ready for a fresh start. He’s crate trained and keeps his space tidy with regular potty breaks. He gets along beautifully with every single dog here and is wonderful with children. Cloud is still a little cautious when experiencing something new — but this is the sweetest part about him:Give him about a week to settle into a new environment, and he transforms into a complete goofball.Once he feels safe, he is silly, playful, joyful, and just an absolute dream of a companion. Soft, sweet, submissive, gentle — and so eager to make his people happy. He may need a bit of patience at first, but the reward is enormous. Cloud blossoms into the dog who follows you around, makes you laugh, and melts into you with the softest affection.  He needs another confident dog to help transition and a physical fence. Cloud is ready for his forever family — someone patient, understanding, and excited to watch him bloom into the incredible dog he was always meant to be. After everything he’s survived, this sweet boy deserves nothing less than a lifetime of love. If you would like to have Cloud join your family fill out an adoption application.  His $500 adoption fee covers medical care to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2566033##
