Story
I’m Fauna, a sweet and petite Carolina Dog mix wishing for a forever home where I’m loved and cared for.I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services. I arrived with my daughter, who has been adopted. I’m a heartworm warrior and have successfully completed my treatment and defeated that terrible disease.I’m a perfect size at 25 pounds, and my estimated birth date is September 2022.I’ve been in a wonderful foster home during my medical treatment. I got along well with the resident dogs in my foster home, especially my bestie who is a smaller tot like me. I was respectful to the cats in my foster home, too!I’m friendly with everyone I meet, and I do well with kids, too. I’m a great leash walker, and I politely take treats. I’m working on my house training, and would love a home where I can get regular breaks outside. My foster family says I’m an all-around great girl. I’ve had quite a journey, and I’m excited to be ready to find my forever family now!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
I’m Sanford, a handsome mixed-breed youngster who steals hearts everywhere I go!I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services. I’m a medium-size guy, about 35 to 40 pounds, and my estimated birth date is September 2024.I’m very dog-friendly and a playful guy. I enjoy the company of other dogs, and I love snuggling with my human friends. I’ve represented HSYC at community events and did very well meeting new dogs and people. I’m also a very intelligent boy and graduated from school at Zoom Room in Fort Mill. I learned helpful manners like “sit” and “down.” And important life skills, like confidently getting in and out of a car. I would love to continue my training with my new family!I love my daily walks and I’m an excellent leash walker. I would be a fabulous companion for adventures, or backyard playtime. Call to meet me and find out why everyone at the rescue loves me!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
We are looking to responsibly rehome our 3-year-old German Shepherd mix, Gunnar. He is neutered and fully up to date on all vaccinations. We rescued him at around one year old and sent him through a 6-week professional training program, including e-collar training. He is well-mannered, walks beautifully on a leash, does not jump, and does not get on furniture.Gunnar is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He is excellent with people and absolutely loves kids. He is affectionate, loyal, and gentle with them. He thrives with structure and clear expectations and truly wants to please.Gunnar does have a strong prey drive. He has shown aggression toward a neighbor’s small dog (that resembles a cat), and for safety reasons we cannot continue managing this. We also have a cat in our home and must keep them separated. Because of this, Gunnar would do best in a home with no cats or small dogs and ideally as the only pet. Large crate and ecollar included.
