We don’t know how long he was there… but we do know he held on. Once he came into rescue, everything changed. Fluids, warmth, good food, soft blankets — and most importantly, kindness. Slowly, he began to come back to life. The scared little boy who flinched at movement started blinking softly, leaning into pets, and allowing himself to trust again. Now, at 1 year old, Discoball is our longest resident… and somehow, he’s still waiting. No flood of applications. No “I need him” messages. Just quiet days turning into weeks… and weeks into months. While other cats come and go, he stays — watching, waiting, hoping his turn is coming. And the truth is… the overlooked ones feel that. He can be a little shy at first and may startle with quick movements, but give him a little time and you’ll see it — the softness, the sweetness, the way he melts into affection once he knows he’s safe. While preparing for her furever home, Dove developed Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, a painful condition that caused her bladder to swell. Thankfully, with temporary treatment and a switch to a urinary tract health diet, her symptoms have completely resolved — and she’s been doing beautifully ever since. Dove absolutely loves attention from her people. She’s affectionate, calm, and happiest when she feels safe and close to someone she trusts. However, after everything she’s been through, she is very fearful of other cats (and possibly other pets) and would do best as someone’s one and only in a peaceful, low-stress home. She is a super affectionate and cuddly girl who truly believes all attention should be hers… and honestly? She makes a very convincing case. She will sit right beside you and politely (and repeatedly) ask for pets until she gets them — and if you somehow miss the hint, she’ll simply climb straight into your lap so you absolutely cannot miss her. And the best part? Her adorable little bobtail wags the entire time. Belle loves her people deeply and wants to be close — always. She thrives on affection, connection, and being someone’s very special girl. Because of that, she would likely do best as an only cat, where she doesn’t have to compete for love or share her humans. If Lumière wandered too close while she was getting pets, Belle made it very clear she was not a fan — she just wants her person all to herself. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We personally thank you for your interest in adopting one or more of our wonderful cats or kittens! We have invested a lot of our time, energy and resources to offer a second chance to these rescued kitties. Many have been through situations already and our goal is to prevent that from happening again. We are committed to seeing our cats through, as we have poured our hearts into them, and take our adoptions seriously, even after they leave our care.   We encourage an ongoing relationship with our adopters, and look for people that are easy to work with.   If at any time in the cat’s life you are unable to keep him or her, you are required to return the cat(s) to us.  We don’t stop caring once the kitties leave! We make every effort that each adoption be successful. All adopters must complete an application. You must be at least 18 years old to fill out an application.  Please print clearly and considerately (for paper applicants). Please fill it out with complete honesty, – there is no “right” or “wrong” answer. We have the right to refuse an adoption application for any reason without recourse if we feel that we need to gather more info, or for whatever concerns the well being of the kitties applied for.  If applications are incomplete, we can delay or deny an adoption.    Please give us a few days time to process your application and to get back with you, respectfully! Meowlica is a very sweet gal - loves affection, just not too much at once, and can be vocal. She is a peculiar kind of gal ~ most ideal home would be quiet and calm for the most part.So far what we know - she spooks easily and will run off to hide - sudden noises or loud noises, but she does adjust and won't run as far, as long as she is getting used to her new situation. She loves catnip but seems to ignore laser lights. She likes play toys, but from the ground, not wand toys, for some reason, those frighten her too. She doesn't seem to like other pets, her ideal home would want to have her and make her the princess of her own kingdom ~She comes to get attention, especially when it's feeding time - she likes wet food as well as kibble. She doesn't mind getting brushed and having her nails trimmed. She is not a fan of being picked up, and I believe in time, she will adjust to be a loving companion that likes to hang out with her person on a regular basis. She is currently too afraid to come out and explore - she gets bullied easily and that keeps her in a corner.  We made a condo for her, so that no one can bully her or harrass her!We don't completely understand her in every way to put it in writing, but it is a journey. Each cat adoption includes vet work; Spay or Neuter, Appropriate Vaccines, Microchip (for most cats), FIV/FeLV Test, basic parasite treatments like deworming and ear checks (for mites), and any other potential medical need at the time he or she is in our care.  Courtesy listings or cats that are not in our immediate care, may not have all the listed services and can be discussed at the time of an interview. We also include an adoption  goodie bag with Premium Cat Food,  canned cat food, toys, feather toys or string toys, laser light,  adoption folder with vet history, healthy pet care and product brochure with subscription offered,  any available coupons, and as much information as needed to help you with your new kitty!  Similarly, cats that are courtesy listings or not in our direct care, may not come with these incentives, or may have other belongings to go with them, which can be discussed during the interview stage. Adoption Fees: An adoption fee or donation is used to help recover the medical expenses for each of our cats, and for their needs while in our care. The adoption fees vary depending on popularity, adoptability and other factors we take into consideration. Our fees range from "any donation" - to 40 or 60 or so, for adults or over 1 year.  Average is 60 for teens, and kittens are 75 - 100 or so, depending on medical costs.  All fees are potentially flexible but we tend to consider it to be a reflection of the adopter's value in our kitties and their state of mind.
