Story
Tuxedo is a kitty with a bobbed tail. He is joyful and energetic. Tuxedo is neutered and has received his Rabies and Distemper vaccine. He loves to play with his siblings and knows how to use the litter box. He enjoys playing with noisy toys.  Dear Potential Adopter: YOUCANMAKEADIFFERENCE, INC is the result of one person’s dream. The same person who works to cover all the expenses associated with the organization cares for the rescues, completes all paperwork to keep the organization legal, and interacts with you. This usually involves working + 100 hours a week. The reason for this is because I care for the animals I rescue. I have tried securing volunteers to help with clerical and other related jobs with no success. Some people work for one day and never respond to our follow-up calls again. This has been the case for more than 10 years. I share this with you in the event that I don’t promptly respond to your email, text, or any other communication. I do try to respond to each and every communication directed to the organization about one of our dogs and 99 % of the time I do. I also try to keep potential adopters whose homes we have visited to ascertain if they are a good match for the dog they're interested in, informed of our final decision, this may not happen as fast as you may want but it does happen. The only thing we ask from you is to be understanding and patient, remember this is a “one woman” organization! It is our mission to be the voice for the voiceless. Each dog, cat, or horse that we adopt out has been promised a second chance for happiness and security. We take this promise very seriously. We evaluate two applicants at a time. If neither proves to be a good fit, we move on to the second set of 2 applicants each potential adopter is asked to complete a PRE-ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE. Following receipt of this document we proceed to schedule what we have come to call a “meet & greet”.  We travel up to 1.5 hours from our location to bring the pet to your home which allows you to see him/her in a secure environment without external distractions. It also allows us to observe the environment where the dog/cat will live and make sure that it provides all the required security to prevent as much as possible any accident. Given the extraordinary circumstances our country is experiencing we have now also instituted what we call "virtual home visits". Using technology for "good", we visit your household using a free app called Google Duo. You can install it for free on your smartphone and will allow us to have a "face-to-face" conversation as well as it will allow us to take a peek at your yard. This allows you to see the dog you are interested in, and us to evaluate your fenced-in-yard. After the meet and greet if you are still interested in our companion dog or cat, and If this is the pet for you we will proceed to complete the formal ADOPTION CONTRACT and collect the total adoption fee of $275.00 for dogs and $85.00 for cats. We remind every potential adopter that even under the best circumstance any animal brought into the house involves a financial investment. They need to be feed, provided with monthly flea preventatives and any other recommended medication, once a year at least they need to see a veterinarian for evaluation, as well as for the administration of any required vaccination. As with humans, animals do get sick and may require to see a veterinarian, it is strongly recommended that you establish an emergency fund for these occasions and/or secure PET INSURANCE to address those extraordinary circumstances. We ask all of our potential adopters to read our adoption contract beforehand and welcome as many questions as you may have after reading it. Out-of-state applications are no longer accepted. Again, thanks for your interest in one of our adoptable furry babies. This is the link to the Pre-Adoption Questionnaire, https://form.123formbuilder.com/5235602///please complete and returns to us. If you have any questions or concerns please call me at 850-270-8793, this is my direct line and if I happen to be busy your call on average will be returned within 2 hours. Have a great day! ##1176344##

Story
Meet Jellybean 😸 Sweet, affectionate, and full of gentle love — Jellybean is the kind of girl who melts right into your heart. She adores snuggling in bed, gives the softest headbutts for pets, and purrs like it’s her full-time job. Once she realized she was safe, her loving personality showed through almost immediately. Jellybean is just 6 months old, with stunning emerald green eyes and a beautiful tabby/calico coat. Despite her young age, she’s already overcome so much. At only 4 months old, she had a litter of kittens and was left to fend for herself. We were able to save Jellybean and her babies, Gumdrop and Lollipop, just in time. Now she’s discovering what it means to be cared for — soft beds, full bowls, and endless affection — and she’s embracing every bit of it. We’re so happy to have you safe, Jellybean. Let's find your furever family! 🐾💚

Story
Bucky may arrive as a wallflower, but don’t be fooled—this kitten has main character energy just waiting to be unlocked. He’s shy and reserved with new people at first, but once he feels safe (and especially once there’s another cat around), Bucky transforms into a full-blown diva in the best way. With a feline companion by his side, he becomes playful, dramatic, curious, and unapologetically affectionate—a true snuggle-loving, silly little star. His ideal home is a calm, patient one with another cat who can help him feel confident enough to take center stage. Bucky’s need for reassurance comes from a past no kitten should ever have experienced. He and his sister were found confined to a crate in a carport. When the people who had them left town for a week, the kittens were abandoned without food or water in the July heat. Somehow, they survived. While his sister recovered quickly, Bucky needed more time—and more care. He was hospitalized for a week, slowly regaining his strength after prolonged confinement and neglect. The veterinary staff even let him roam the office to stretch his legs because he had spent so long in a kennel. With subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics, vitamins, and a lot of determination, Bucky fought his way back. Now that he’s healed, Bucky is ready for what he was always meant for: a safe home, a cat companion, and people willing to let him warm up at his own pace—so he can reward them with affection, antics, and a little bit of attitude. After everything he’s been through, Bucky deserves his happily ever after. Want to give Bucky what he's been waiting for? Apply to adopt!
