Story
Meet —> ONYX :) I was gifted this lovely boy when he was approximately 6 weeks old. My coworker found him in a dumpster and couldn’t keep him because she already had two other cats. I was happy to take him because I’ve always wanted a cat and I was blessed to have him as my first one . He’s slightly timid at first but when he feel comfortable around you he’ll give you LOTS of LOVE. His a mini Garfield (likes to eat) Food is his comfort. He likes cheese, fish, strawberries, avocado, cat pouch/ lickable treats. He likes to be held, petted, and he enjoys his face to be gently massaged. He likes to play. He sometimes plays fetch if it’s the right ball. He loves soft fabric..any fabric really (purses, backpacks, shoes, books, even laptops). He’s not too fond of garbage bags, grocery bags, vacuums, or brooms. He likes to get your attention when he wants or needs something. He’s about 3 years old and has a lot more life in him. Looking for a loving home. Great with kids!

Story
* To be considered for a meet/adoption, please read the full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an online application at www.dpsrescue.org.    Adoption Fee: $200 Who abandons a kitten like THIS? Seriously. We have questions. Because Max is the kind of kitten who thinks every human is his new best friend, every lap was specifically invented for him, and every room in your house deserves a thorough daily inspection. At just 4 months old, Max was abandoned at a cat colony in the Bay Area. Thankfully, one of our incredible DPS cat fosters stepped in and welcomed him into his home. (This foster currently has two other DPS foster kitties and is basically the Cat Whisperer.) It didn't take long for Max to settle in and prove exactly who he is. Spoiler alert... He's awesome. Max is one of those rare kittens who genuinely wants to be wherever his people are. If you're sitting down, congratulations... you've just been selected as today's lap. If you're walking around the house, he'll happily escort you from room to room, offering running commentary because this little guy has thoughts, and he feels it's only fair that you hear them. He's the kind of kitten who greets you at the door like you've been gone for six months instead of six minutes. 'WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I HAVE IMPORTANT KITTEN BUSINESS TO DISCUSS.' Our foster describes Max as incredibly loving, affectionate, and social. He's curious about absolutely everything. Cabinet door opens? Inspection time. Grocery bag on the floor? Better investigate. Laundry basket? Obviously built for kittens. Trying to make the bed? Max is here to help. Trying to fold laundry? He'll make sure every sock receives a proper quality-control inspection. Working on your laptop? Perfect. He was hoping you had a warm place for him to nap. Max also gets along beautifully with the other foster kitties. Whether it's a wrestling match, a game of chase, or a synchronized afternoon nap in a sunny window, he's always happy to join in. Because he's such a confident, friendly little guy, we think he'd do wonderfully in a home with other cats and would likely fit right in with respectful dogs and children, too. The best part about Max isn't that he's playful. It isn't that he's adorable. It isn't even that he's hilariously nosy. It's that he genuinely loves being with his humans. He's not looking for a house where someone occasionally remembers to feed him. He's looking for a family to do life with. Morning coffee? He's there. Movie night? He's already claimed a spot on your lap. Making dinner? He's supervising from a safe distance... mostly to ensure you don't accidentally drop any chicken. If you're searching for a kitten who will make your home feel happier, your couch feel cozier, and your daily routine a whole lot more entertaining, Max may have the most ordinary name in the world... But there is absolutely nothing ordinary about this little guy. July 28, 2026, 3:38 am
