Story
Hello Hoomans. My name is Chico. I am a 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog, and I am deaf. I am friendly with cats and older children, but I don't really do well with the other dogs in my home. I love chewy toys, treats, and Hooman food although I don't get this very often, and have slight separation anxiety, but with toys to chew, I am ok. I am house broken, and love being outside with hoomans, I can walk well on a leash, but I can pull if I see a squirrel or bird. I also enjoy sitting on the couch, with my hoomans, who I love to cuddle with, because I think I'm a smaller dog than I actually am. If you feel like I would be a good dog-o in your home, please send my current hoomans an email.

Story
I was actually born in foster care here about 10 years ago, so you could say this place has known me all my life. Since then, I’ve bounced between homes a few times — not because I’m a bad boy, but because I’ve always needed a little extra time and understanding to build trust with new people and situations. Once I feel safe, though, I’m as loyal and loving as they come.During my last stay, I joined the Homeward Bound program and spent a week with some great trainers who helped me meet new dogs, explore new environments, and gain confidence. I really blossomed! I was adopted into what I thought would be my forever home, but sadly, I came back when my beloved owner passed away unexpectedly. I’m adjusting well here again, but this time, I’m really hoping to find my true forever family.I can live with other dogs as long as they don’t mind a friend who can be a bit pushy sometimes. Small kids make me nervous, but teenagers are totally fine. Cats, though… yeah, they’re not for me.Now, I’ve got to be honest about one thing — I am highly food motivated. Like, really motivated. If it’s edible (and sometimes even if it’s not), I’m interested! Because I have very little self-control when it comes to snacks, my new family will need to help me keep my waistline in check. I’ll happily eat my way to a double chin if left to my own devices, and that’s just not great for a dog my age.If you’ve got a patient heart, a sense of humor, and a knack for portion control, I might just be your perfect companion. I’ve been waiting a long time for my forever — maybe it’s finally with you. 💛Requirements: Martingale Collar; Everyone In Home Must MeetAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
💗 Hi there, I’m Rye! 🎾Hi, friends! My name’s Rye, and I’m a 2-year-old, happy-go-lucky girl bursting with love, energy, and personality! I’m an affectionate, smart, and playful pup who can’t wait to find a family of my very own.I came to the shelter because I wasn’t getting along with the other female dog in my previous home — I just don’t like to feel like I’m in competition with another leading lady. But don’t worry, I get along wonderfully with most dogs, especially after spending time learning and growing at K91 Training!I’m housebroken, ride beautifully in the car, and I’m a total sweetheart for baths, nail trims, and vet visits. I know all my basic commands and love having a “job” or something to focus on — it makes me so proud! I’m a very affectionate girl who loves to be close to my people, and nothing makes me happier than curling up in bed with my humans at night after a fun, active day.I adore playtime, toys, and adventures with my favorite people. I do like to chase cats and I’m not a fan of wildlife, so I’d do best in a home without small critters. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving companion who will shower you with affection and brighten your days, I might just be your perfect match. Speak with our office staff about next steps after submitting an adoption application and they can help you in meeting me!
