Austin is a 5 year old American Leopard Hound. He is a wonderful dog but he does suffer from allergies and has to take allergy medication. He is very mellow and does not require a lot of exercise. He gets too many treats and is slightly overweight at 125 pounds. He is definitely an inside dog.

Story
Hi, I'm Ed. My previous owner dropped me off at Powers Drive Animal Hospital and they were kind enough to get me to Second Chance. I am a young, energetic, sweet boy. Did I say energetic? I love to go outside and play, or take walks. If you are looking for the adventurous type for hikes and outdoorsy fun, I'm your guy!  Since I've been here a while, my new bestie is Georgie (we look like we could be siblings). Georgie has been here a while as well. Now, we would be devasted if one of us got adopted without the other. So, if you are looking for 2 dogs who get along great together, look no further! Also, no DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. I look like I might have Catahoula Leopard Dog in my mix and probably some bully. This means home ownership to adopt me is required! I have all had all of my shots, and am neutered. Also included in my adoption fee, is a registered microchip and a full set of medical records for you and my future vet! If you are interested in meeting Georgie and me, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a time for a meet and greet. I'm looking forward to meeting you! Only applicants who meet the following current requirements will be considered: - Homeownership, no renters - Fenced yard not required, but preferred - Applicant must be 25 years of age or older ##1581433##

I do have allergies that require daily medication and some extra trips to the vet each year when the allergies flare up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.               Precious is a fantastic companion and a loyal dog. She loves to snuggle (and snore!) and when it is a bit colder she loves to snooze with you under a blanket. She is very playful and doing zoomies outside is one of her favorite pastimes. When you come back home she will wag her tail so hard that it almost hits her in her face. She continues to be a calm dog indoors and does perfectly when she is alone.  She is not a barky dog but will alert you by barking once when the doorbell is rung. She learns commands easily; in a matter of days, she learned to sit and stay when we put her food on the ground. We can even walk out of her sight without her running towards her bowl. She loves people but can be a bit nervous/protective when new people or dogs approach her. She usually does warm up to people quickly though. Due to a lack of socialization, she still needs to work on her dog reactiveness. At this time she should be the only dog in the home. Precious requires a home with a fenced in backyard for her to romp and play in. She does not do well with other animals, so she must be the Queen of the house!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2024, 1:45 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Panda is so excited to be attending Camp Doglando, where kids and rescue dogs team up to train and get the dogs ready for homes of their own.  Panda will be attending camp until graduation on July 19. Panda & Emma This will be Emma’s 3rd year at camp. Emma is a very strong coach for puppies and very patient for them. Her bubbly personality always shines through the dogs and brings out the best in them.   Why did you choose Panda, Emma? “When I walked with her she seemed like she was like me. Very chill, I go my own pace, and I can support all of her needs. She seemed like she was the dog for me.” Panda and her siblings came to PRBJ via the Pilots for Paws Program.  They got their flight wings coming from Alabama. New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We highly recommend their new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.    Please note a fenced yard is preferred for this baby to romp and safely play. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2024, 1:45 pm
