HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email ARL-Adoption@arl-iowa.org.---- Sweet guy who will lean up against you and ask for pets all up and down his body; also loves rump scratches and will back himself up to you so you can easily scratch him!- Loves treats and will vacuum them right up off the ground - Went on a Dog's Day Out field trip recently and enjoyed going on walks (he does great on a leash!), playing in the yard, being treated to a pup cup, and taking a nice nap afterward- Will make it his mission to keep your yard free of squirrels and bunnies - Has been known to jump a 4-foot fence when he's really focused on something, so please plan on monitoring him when he's out in the yard or keeping him on a leash so he stays safe and secure - May need extra time to warm up to new people and things and may prefer a calm, quiet home; please plan on giving him extra time to settle in if he needs that- Can be anxious in the car, so he may need some help becoming more comfortable with that - May tend to avoid other dogs (dog intro recommended) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Ticked Weight: 107.6 Age: 5yrs 7mths 2wks

Story
Introducing Hondo, the loyal and brave companion you've been waiting for! Hondo is a true good boy, showcasing his friendly nature with both people and fellow furry friends. He strikes the perfect balance between confident and respectful, making him a wonderful addition to any household dynamic. While Hondo may be a bit head shy when it comes to leashes, it's a trait rooted in his past experiences - his ears once caused him discomfort. But with patience and understanding, he's slowly overcoming this challenge. This resilience highlights his adaptable nature and willingness to grow. Crate training is a breeze for Hondo, reflecting his cooperative spirit. He's well-versed in the art of sitting and enjoys eating a peaceful meal. These traits make him a joy to train and a promising companion for both new and experienced pet owners. Hondo's ideal home is one that's lively and active, as he thrives in an environment where he can stretch his legs and engage in the joyful act of running. With a strong recall foundation already in place, he's open to further fine-tuning this skill. This warrior-dog's name is music to his ears, and he responds to it with enthusiasm. Though his recall could use a bit more polish, his eagerness to learn shines through. Hondo's adaptable and resourceful nature, coupled with his receptive attitude, make him a loyal partner for all your adventures. If you're seeking a four-legged friend who embodies both resilience and companionship, look no further than Hondo. He's ready to stand by your side and show you the depths of his affectionate heart. Don't hesitate to welcome this valiant spirit into your home! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

"Get your motor runnin'! Head out on the highway! Looking for adventure and whatever comes our way!!!" That is one pawsome song right? My name is Wanda! I am 2 year old Catahoula mix :) looking for an ACTIVE family! They say I'm a very smart cookie, that sounds amazing!!! Who doesn't like cookies?! I know sit, fetch and learning to drop it. I have doggie friends and I've met the kitties and they are ok too! I am still a little nervous with new people and sometimes like to bork at them so they know I'm there. Foster mom is teaching me so many cool things all the time. I am crate trained and I LOOOVE belly rubs! I would do great with an active family that likes to go on hikes, adventures and give me lots of chewy toys and stimulate my growing mind! If you like to have a good time like me, have your people get with my people and let's get this pawty started!!! Local (Texas) adoption fee is $200 Out of state (Transport) adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Bonjour! Meet Daphne! Daphne is female, medium-sized (20-59#), Catahoula Leopard Dog/Lab Retriever mix looking for her furever home! Daphne and Jasmine came to God's Dogs Rescue together looking for a family to finally treat them right! They are sisters, however, they do not have to be adopted together! In fact, they have done very well on their own :) Daphne is a sweet-loving doggy who'll always be by your side and wanting to cuddle! She has the beautiful brindle swirls of dark chocolate and milk chocolate mixed together. Sweet as the confection! Daphne will need an active lifestyle to keep her happy and healthy! And will make you a great looking buddy!! Local adoption fee $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

I have found that if you engage the puppy eyes.... a lot gets done!! So that is what I am doing... PUPPY EYES! I have them, I use them! Your part is simple... ADOPT ME!!! Ok, lets rewind a bit... My name is Ursula and I was found on the side of the road with my sister, Ariel, in the cold and we were scared... However, found on the road was our biggest stroke of luck! We are ready for adoption now and hope you will consider one of us please :) OOHHH PICK ME!!! PICK ME!!! I am a smart girl, obviously, and will be ready to hang with you and the family!
