Story
You know, I am named "Tuffy" but what if I am just a "Softy"?? I am an active and sweet boy and I am kind of a goofball, too. I came from a very nice couple who loved me very much, however, they were homeless. Now don't get me wrong, they took EXCELLENT care of me, but I am a BIG puppy and they were having a hard time taking me on the buses or letting me into the shelters :( So, my parents asked the rescue to take me in and find me the right home, so here I am, looking all buff- if you ask me :) I am a GORGEOUS Catahoula boy, tall, merle and HANDSOME!! My eyes tell my story and it is a good one! I have time on my hands and I am a playful and fun kind of pup. BIG puppy- 65# and growing :) I am learning my manners and am making ALL kinds of friends at the rescue, but I am waiting for the SPECIAL FRIENDS who will give me my WILDEST DREAM- A HOME! SO, look me up, don't wait... APPLY!!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Marlene’s journey started on the streets, before her foster was finally able to bring her to safety. Now she’s warm, loved, and ready to find her forever family. This sweet girl is shy at first, but once she feels safe, her gentle personality shines. She’s also won over by food—a few treats go a long way in helping her feel comfortable and connected. Marlene thrives with the companionship of other dogs. Having a confident canine friend boosts her own confidence, and she can happily play with them all day long. She is crate trained and housebroken. Marlene would do best in a calmer home with older children, as quick or unexpected movements can still startle her. With patience, kindness, and a steady routine, she’ll continue to blossom into the affectionate, loyal companion she was always meant to be. Marlene is ready for a family who can give her the love and reassurance she’s been waiting for. Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Baloo is a wonderful Catahoula dog (born 2019) looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She is usually a calm dog and considers herself a lap dog.  She is friendly with people of all ages and she likes to have another dog or cat around.  She loves to be petted and will reward your attention with kisses.  Baloo is housebroken, leash trained and she's okay if her people work and need to be out of the house for part of the day.   She loves to play fetch and will need a fenced yard to play in. The suggested adoption donation for Baloo is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2593901##

Buster’s parents are both purebred catahoulas. His mother was under aged when she was bred (accidentally) so he does not have papers. He’s energetic and loving and very loyal. House trained and trained to wipe his feet on command when coming in from the rain.

Story
Tito is a Catahoula mix, born in 2017.  Don't let Tito's age fool you, he is still an active boy and loves to go on walks or hikes and play frisbee.  Tito enjoys a regular dose of fresh air and sunbathing when the weather cooperates.  He is also leash trained, knows some commands and plays fetch.  Tito will only bark to alert you about something (i.e. knock onthe door, people next to the fence, etc). Tito is selective with dogs and has been good at the dog park with supervision.  It would be better for him if there were no cats in the home.  He's a little nervous at times, but also knows when to be protective.  Tito is house trained.  He's had a little submissive peeing in the past, but that hasn't happened for a long time. The perfect home for Tito would be with people who are active, but don't have a lot of people around all the time.  He tends to get stressed with new people coming in and out often.  He would do better with older kids (age 6+) because he is unsure of young kids.  Tito has not been aggressive around small children, but he needs to be around people that can read his cues and give him space when he wants to be alone.   The suggested adoption donation for Tito is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
