Story
Cruze is a handsome 2-year-old, 65 LB, neutered male mixed breed with a docked tail who was surrendered to our shelter when his family was no longer able to care for him.Cruze is a fast-paced pup! He loves being outside, going for walks, car rides, and being with his human family. He is the perfect dog for an able and active family. He is a snuggler, fully believes he is still a puppy, and will give you all of his love if you allow it. He would much rather sleep next to you than by himself.Because he is still a puppy at heart, he gets excited and jumps up on people. He knows a few basic commands (sit and lie down) but would benefit from attending an obedience training course with his new family to help with the jumping up and focus some of his puppy energy. He is a strong boy, so heavy canvas leashes (no flexi leads), a martingale collar, and/or secure harness are recommended. A home that has a fenced yard and a family committed to providing daily leash walks and play sessions would be ideal. A tired boy is a good boy! ##2511527##

Story
Name: Buzz Breed: Catahoula/Australian Shepherd Mix Age/Sex: 1.5 years; Male Weight: approximately 50lbs Medical: up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: 10+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: Alabama Buzz was abandoned before going to a high kill shelter where he was also risking not making out, which is amazing given just how sweet of a pup he is! This is something that is important to remember, shelters are so stressful for these dogs that they do not always show their best sides as they are just pushed beyond what they can handle. Since he was broke out from the pokie, we find that he is truly a happy-go-lucky baby. He does not bark in his crate. He is very independent; however, he simply has to say “hello” to everyone he meets! Which includes giving hugs and kisses. He loves barking at people and dogs when he sees them for the first time. And unfortunately, sometimes jumping! He loves jumping. This we are working on. He prefers not to share his crate or food with dogs. He is not food or toy aggressive towards people. He loves playing with other dogs, but he does love his private stash of belongings in his crib. So, he just asks for respect. He loves treats and toys. He has A LOT of energy and is a touch hyper. He loves walking and hiking. He does pull slightly when walking and is learning how to walk nicely. Buzz is a wonderful dog if you need a buddy in the car. He loves traveling in the vehicle with you and is the best co-pilot you could ever ask for! Buzz would be wonderful for an active family that loves hiking, climbing, and traveling. Story
Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog Age: 4 years Weight: 75 lb Dogs: Yes; no small dogs Cats: No; Including Chickens Kids: Yes Crate Trained : Yes House Trained : Yes Location: Warren, ME Shadow is everything that you read about Catahoula Leopard dogs. He loves his family but has energy that is endless! He loves to play, but he would be just fine being the only dog in the home, if you gave him a job! He is also the true essence of his name; he loves to be your Shadow! Shadow has lived his whole life with this one family and unfortunately, due to life events that have nothing to do with him, he needs to be rehomed. This will be tough for him, so he will need a new family that understands the breed and knows this is not a ready-made dog; due to the pandemic he has missed some key socialization periods and has not seen as much as some dogs and the world is still scary to him! Shadow is a true cuddle bunny with people and does love to play with other dogs. Little dogs will not be an option but if you have a dog that like to play and kids that like to cuddle this boy will be your boy for sure! He is very strong on leash but walks with respect. We do require you have Catahoula knowledge for this sweet boy. Story
Name: Elvie Breed: Catahoula Mix Age/Sex: 1year+/-/ SF Weight: 54 lbs Medical: Up to Date and vaccinations, spayed, wormed, microchipped, Treated for Lyme Cat Friendly: Untested-but shows keen interest in squirrels Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes- but is still jumpy Crate Trained: Yes (great at night/needs work on daytime crating) House Trained: Yes Location: Massachusetts Elvie is a 90s super model in a dog’s body! At 54 lbs and still growing into her long, lanky 24" frame, this sweet girl is all legs, big feet, and endearing puppy awkwardness (watching her climb onto the couch is pure comedy). Her stunning coat is a beautiful dark/blue leopard and her expressive face perfectly matches her exuberant and affectionate nature. Elvie is a bit of a party girl and true social butterfly who has met dogs of all sizes and ages and handles everyone with enthusiastic respect—whether that means endlessly playing with her rowdier friends or calmly ignoring smaller or senior dogs. Picked up as a stray in San Antonio, little is known about Elvie’s first 7 months, but she must have been someone’s dog- she’s great on leash, loves her car rides, already knows basic manners (“sit/down/wait”) and corrects quickly with “uh-uh” as she continues to work on being a perfect girl! Like any young pup, she has plenty of energy, but with regular walks, playtime, and mental enrichment, she is ready for cuddle time! A tired dog is a good dog, and this sweet, social girl is ready to thrive in an active, loving home. Elvie notes she would love a home with another pup to play and cuddle with! She walks nicely on leash alone or with another pup- she shows a keen interest in squirrels, which is currently just watching. She has been working with her foster family to observe and ignore to maintain her good leash manners. At bedtime she crates like a dream but needs a little work with daytime crating.
