Story
We believe he could be a pure bred Catahoula Leopard Dog! And words used to describe the breed describe sweet Ric perfectly: inquisitive, intelligent, energetic, gentle, independent and LOVING. Ric is highly food motivated and is willing to learn anything quickly for a treat! He’s good on a leash, and due to his hound nature would do best with a fenced in yard— he can be a wanderer. He surprisingly passed our cat test with flying colors! He was so gentle and even submissive to the grown cat and 5 kittens we have. Though he is extremely gentle, he could use some manners! He may be prone to counter surfing if he ever got the opportunity, but with work he’d make an amazing house dog! He’s great with every person he meets, and every dog so far. Since he’s a hound, he may would chase pocket pets, as it’s his nature. Ric would make a great running partner, couch potato, or anything as long as he gets love!

Story
Breed: Catahoula Leopard Mix Age: 9 months (March 1st) Weight: 50 lbs Medical: Up to date on Vaccinations, microchipped, Neutered Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes House Trained: In training (goes outdoors and indoors on pee pads) Crate Trained: Yes, In an open playpen style crate; No to a closed crate Location: New Hampshire Brownie was a stray puppy that is approximately 26 weeks old and weighs approximately 35 pounds and is very lovable, playful and loyal. He continues to use the potty outside, with consistency. Pee pads are still kept in the home in case of “accidents” as he is still in training. He is extremely playful with the other dogs and cats in the home. He would do best without senior animals as he is extremely playful and as for cats when they tell him they don’t want to play – he listens! But even though he can play a little rough at times, when redirected, he’s aware and listens. He loves going for car rides and knows when anyone is leaving, he will usually be the first waiting at the door! He does well on car rides. Everyone that sees him falls in love with him. He will make a great companion, but needs exercise and daily attention, as well as consistency and redirection, when necessary. Brownie loves to play in the yard and when he is ready to come in is one of the few times that he will bark. He will sometimes bark when he senses something or sees the neighbors that are unfamiliar to him. So far, he lets mostly everyone give him pets and love and he sure does give lots of kisses. He knows the command “sit” and knows how to walk on a leash. He would definitely make a great jogging partner. He loves puppuccinos and playing in the water, swimming pool and splashing in puddles. He even jumps in the bathtub! He’s a very smart, loyal puppy and is very observant. He gives constant eye contact and lots of kisses. He can be food aggressive at feeding time, so if it is a muti-dog home, to avoid him guarding all the dog bowls he is fed separately every day in the open style crate. He already knows to go inside and wait for his food bowl. He stays inside the crate until all the other dogs have finished eating or the food is picked up. If you are interested in adopting Brownie, click at the link below: http://www.nehoularescue.com/adoption-application.html Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. Brownie’s adoption donation is $450 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter depending on age at time of adoption. We do not have a physical shelter; all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.

Story
Titan Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog Age: 3 years Weight: 80 lb Dogs: Yes Cats: No; Including Chickens Kids: Yes Crate Trained : Yes House Trained : In Training Location: Warren, ME Titan is for the most part an old soul in a young body. Once he gets comfortable with you, he is such a love bug! He is very focused on the environment around him with smelling and watching what is going on; he is extremely true to his nature as a Catahoula Leopard dog. But what makes him even better is that he loves people and loves to be with people. He loves to play, especially with squeaky balls. He would be fine being the only dog, but he would need a job and he would need to be with you a good portion of the day. Titan has lived his whole life with this one family and unfortunately, due to life events that have nothing to do with him, he needs to be rehomed. This will be tough for him, so he will need a new family that understands the breed and knows this is not a ready-made dog; due to the pandemic he has missed some key socialization periods and has not seen as much as some dogs and the world is still scary to him! Please know that if you do not have ANY Catahoula experience, ANY plans to further train him or plans to exercise him daily with a job that will work his brain and body – please do not apply.
