Story
Cruze is a handsome 2-year-old, 65 LB, neutered male mixed breed with a docked tail who was surrendered to our shelter when his family was no longer able to care for him.Cruze is a fast-paced pup! He loves being outside, going for walks, car rides, and being with his human family. He is the perfect dog for an able and active family. He is a snuggler, fully believes he is still a puppy, and will give you all of his love if you allow it. He would much rather sleep next to you than by himself.Because he is still a puppy at heart, he gets excited and jumps up on people. He knows a few basic commands (sit and lie down) but would benefit from attending an obedience training course with his new family to help with the jumping up and focus some of his puppy energy. He is a strong boy, so heavy canvas leashes (no flexi leads), a martingale collar, and/or secure harness are recommended. A home that has a fenced yard and a family committed to providing daily leash walks and play sessions would be ideal. A tired boy is a good boy! ##2511527##

Story
Name: Attitash Breed: Catahoula Mix Age/Sex: 1 yrs old +/-, SF Weight: 30 lbs Medical: Up to Date and vaccinations, spayed, wormed, microchipped Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Older 10+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: New Hampshire Attitash (is named after a mountain/ski resort here in New Hampshire it is pronounced “At-a-tash”), is a very timid and shy girl who has taken some time to come out of her shell and comfort zone. She does tend to hide in the furthest corner of the room away from the door so that she can see what is happening in front of her. She is very curious about life and can be seen peeking around the corner to find out what is going on or happening in the next room. When she warms up to you, all she wants is love, attention and affection. You will know that she is comfortable with you once she rolls over onto her back so that you can rub her belly and that is when you will be able to see a patch of white fur on her chest in the shape of a heart! She only barks when she hears voices outside of the home or when a stranger walks in that she doesn't know and will retreat into another room until she is comfortable enough to come out. Attie loves her toys and will bring them all into the room that you are in and play. She loves deer antlers and Yak cheese sticks to chew on. She gets sudden bursts of the "zoomies" about twice a day and will run all over the house. She does get a little nervous when you try to put her leash on, but it quickly fades once it's on. She walks well on a leash and loves long walks! Attie is extremely food motivated! She knows how to catch treats, “sit” and “leave it”. She currently sleeps in a crate at night. Attie would do best in a quieter environment where there isn't a lot of constant loud noise because it does scare her. She is a very smart and spunky girl who wants nothing more in life than love! Story
Name: Buzz Breed: Catahoula/Australian Shepherd Mix Age/Sex: 1.5 years; Male Weight: approximately 50lbs Medical: up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: 10+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: Alabama Buzz was abandoned before going to a high kill shelter where he was also risking not making out, which is amazing given just how sweet of a pup he is! This is something that is important to remember, shelters are so stressful for these dogs that they do not always show their best sides as they are just pushed beyond what they can handle. Since he was broke out from the pokie, we find that he is truly a happy-go-lucky baby. He does not bark in his crate. He is very independent; however, he simply has to say “hello” to everyone he meets! Which includes giving hugs and kisses. He loves barking at people and dogs when he sees them for the first time. And unfortunately, sometimes jumping! He loves jumping. This we are working on. He prefers not to share his crate or food with dogs. He is not food or toy aggressive towards people. He loves playing with other dogs, but he does love his private stash of belongings in his crib. So, he just asks for respect. He loves treats and toys. He has A LOT of energy and is a touch hyper. He loves walking and hiking. He does pull slightly when walking and is learning how to walk nicely. Buzz is a wonderful dog if you need a buddy in the car. He loves traveling in the vehicle with you and is the best co-pilot you could ever ask for! Buzz would be wonderful for an active family that loves hiking, climbing, and traveling. Medical: UTD on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: yes Kid Friendly: Ages 10+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: Blooming Grove, NY Lark is a sweet, goofy girl who unfortunately lacks confidence. This girl needs strong leadership and direction. Without it she becomes fearful, and she gravitates to the possessive. She needs a breed savvy home with a handler who can help keep her fears in check and build her confidence. She’s doing very well in her foster home with other dogs. She seems to read the room through their eyes. New people and surprises make her uneasy, so she would do best in a home with another confident dog or two and no kids. Not a great fetcher, she’s happy to trot around the yard just holding the ball in her mouth as long as she’s hanging out with you.
