Story
Darcie is a super lover and cuddler. She is strong willed, but once she understands who the alpha is, she does very well. Active but past puppy behavior. She does bark at unknown dogs but has not shown aggression. Protective of her property. We have a medical issue with Schizophrenia in the house and this makes it difficult when emergency workers come and the ill person cognitively does not know how to command the dogs so emergency workers can work. Darcie loves her owner but can sense something isn't right and becomes protective. Darcie is a great family dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Paisley is a great pup, she's super sweet, practically a professional cuddle, very smart, food and treat motivated, so will be easy to train with consistency and positive reinforcement as she is also a pleaser. She also has no resource guarding. Paisley loves other dogs and is good with my cat, though may be a bit rough for an older or frailer feline. She has medium energy, is crate and potty trained, and loves her toys. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. May 3, 2025, 10:06 am

Story
Sesame, the cutest little seed! She is such an all-around wonderful dog. “She is beauty, she is grace”! She’s very loving, sweet and loyal, quick to pick up on her training and loves to learn (gotta love those training treats!), a great protector/window watcher, patient and very tolerant, doesn’t resource guard, and is playful and fun like the young pup she still is. She loves going out for her walks and then coming inside to curl up in some blankets on the couch for a nice nap-especially if you’re going to join her! She “likes to have lots of fresh fruit around and chocolate chips in her pancakes”…all jokes aside, she does like her pancakes plain with butter and syrup, and will happily share all of your dog safe meals with you. She’s very fun to eat with, and VERY appreciative. She is shy with new people (who isn’t!?), but once you build trust with her, there’s no going back!Sesame is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!
