Story
STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Hi! I was born 3/2/26 and I’m one of a litter of 11 puppies! Our sweet momma took such good care of us. We are guessed to be a mix of Pit Bull and Catahoula Leopard Dog, which explains all of our fun colors and unique patterns! I’m currently looking for my forever home and my foster mom says I’m extra special because she thinks I may be deaf. But she also says that doesn’t make me any less amazing — it just means I experience the world a little differently, and someone out there is still going to love me exactly as I am. I’m a very happy, playful girl who loves everyone I meet! I get along great with cats, kids, and other dogs. I’m outgoing, confident, and full of personality — honestly, you probably wouldn’t even know there’s anything different about me! My adoption fee includes: • Age-appropriate vetting and vaccines • Flea/tick/heartworm prevention • Dewormings since 2 weeks old • Starter food • Collar & leash • Treats and a toy If you have questions about me, please email heather@savingtailsanimalrescue.org All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter! **Courtesy Listing: If interested, please call or text (239) 821-6855** Auggie is a 6 month old Bluetick Hound/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix looking for his forever home. During his training program, Auggie made wonderful progress in his obedience, confidence, and ability to work through new environments. He is a smart, driven young dog who enjoys learning and thrives with clear structure and leadership. Auggie is dog friendly and loves his people. Due to unforeseen changes in his family's living situation, they have made the difficult decision to find Auggie a home that can better meet his needs long-term. Our goal is to help him transition into a home where he can continue to succeed. Auggie would be an excellent fit for an active family committed to providing continued training, structure, and enrichment appropriate for his age and breed mix. -6 months old -Bluetick Hound / Catahoula Leopard Dog mix -Dog friendly -No cats -Up to date on vaccines -Not neutered yet -Very smart and driven boy If you think he could be the right fit for you, please contact (239) 821-6855.
