Nico is a 9 year old catahoula leopard and husky mix. Despite being 9 years old he is full of energy and loves being active but is also used to being home alone during the day as I work full time. He is up to date on vaccines (Lyme/lepto/distemper parvo and rabies.) He has an up to date heart worm test as well. He loves his toys, especially ropes and bones. He is on an inexpensive medication (cetirizine/zertec) for allergies. He’s a very sweet old boy that just needs love, time, and attention.

Velvet A18629138 lb. neutered male, approx 10 months old -Meet Velvet—a puppy with the softest skin you’ve ever felt! Right now he’s missing most of his fur while he heals, but that’s exactly how he earned his name. His velvety-soft skin is impossible not to smile about, and with the care he’s receiving, we’re hopeful his coat will make a comeback.-Velvet may have been quiet in his kennel, but the steady thump of his tail said it all. He was so happy to have company! He’s still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place, and walking on a leash is completely new to him. He wasn’t quite sure what to do and preferred to freeze or tuck himself away, so he got a first-class ride to the photo room instead.-Once the leash came off, his true personality appeared. This sweet boy wasted no time climbing into my lap for cuddles and soaking up all the pets he could get. He’s full of puppy wiggles, loves tossing toys around, and is always ready for a little fun.-He’s also very treat motivated and is already working on “sit.” Like any young puppy, he’s still mastering the fine art of taking treats and occasionally fumbles taking them from your hands. He was mastering it by the end of our visit.-Velvet is a lovable little guy who just needs a patient family to help him gain confidence and continue learning about the world. Behind that unique appearance is a happy, affectionate puppy with a constantly wagging tail and so much love to give. We think his future is just as bright as his personality.-Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. Maryann needs a hero. Growing up in rescue is not living her "best life". She has not had it easy. She was adopted as a puppy, but when her dad got a new girlfriend, he decided that he couldn't be bothered with his dogs and so after a year, Maryann ended up back at the rescue. Now, she is hopeful that someone will see her sweet nature and beautiful colors and make her their newest family member. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. All she needs now is a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. Leonard is a 56-pound leopard Catahoula, born around 07/01/21 and covered from nose to tail in the prettiest white and gray spots, and his personality is just as nice as his coat. He’s very sweet and smart! He’s friendly, likes other dogs, is good on and off the leash, knows basic commands and knows how to sit and high five. He’s just a genuinely pleasant dog to have around! Leonard is ready to go home with his new family. If you’d like to meet or adopt him, please apply for him today! Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
