He now happily sleeps in bed with his foster (a big win!), and he’s starting to seek out gentle affection on his own terms, a huge milestone for a dog who is learning to feel safe. His kennel remains his cozy safe space, and when he’s out, he’s curious about what’s happening around the house and enjoys being nearby, even if he’s not quite ready to fully settle in with the group yet. With patience and consistency, his confidence continues to grow. Bandito is working with a trainer, and everyone agrees that slow, thoughtful progress is the key to his success. He would thrive in a calm, adult-only home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes. A securely fenced yard is essential, as leashes are still scary for him. Hello my name is Odin, I'm from Minnesota! Hi, my name is Odin, and I’m on the hunt for my forever home. I’m about two years old and a total catch for the lucky family who finds me. I love going for walks, learning new tricks, and playing fetch for as long as you’ll throw the ball. At the end of the day, you can count on at least one round of zoomies, followed by my favorite activity—snuggling up in your lap (even if I don’t quite fit) while you watch a movie or read a good book. I’m 100% with potty training and doing pretty well with walking, though occasionally I get a little too excited and just have to investigate things I see along the way. Hi, my name is Anastasia and I am from Texas! From her foster: Anastasia is an energic, happy puppy who loves to play with her dogs friends, her people, or both - she's not picky! She is potty trained and kennel trained (sleeps 8hr overnight). She has access to a fenced back yard and is loving the space to run around and explore. She is higher energy so would do well with daily activity or a dog friend to play with, however she balances this nicely by being very directable to her toys and bones. She loves going on walks and would be the perfect buddy for any and all outdoor activities! She is smart and catches on quickly, loves praise and treats so it has been easy to work on training with her. She would love to be your buddy!

This baby Catahoula mix is a happy, bouncy, goofy ray of sunshine who spends most of her day playing with her puppy brother, showing off her puppy zoomies, and narrating her own adventures like she’s the star of her own reality show. She’s picking up all the important life skills by watching the big dogs around her, including the very serious chihuahua mix who communicates in side-eye. Shaylee now understands that not everyone wants to wrestle and she’s super respectful about it. She plays beautifully with dogs of all ages and sizes and greets every human like a long-lost friend. She hasn’t met tiny kids yet, but she adores her foster’s teen and loves being close to her people when she finally takes a break from puppy shenanigans. She’s getting better every day with potty training and leash walking, and she’s a champion eater who thinks treats are a lifestyle. Crate time is going well too—she voices her feelings at first, but then settles in for a nap like the sweet baby she is. Shaylee is sweet, spunky, full of heart, and equipped with some truly magnificent ears. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
