Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!         Cheeto Dust is a 14&#226&#128&#145week&#226&#128&#145old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pit Bull mix with a joyful spirit and a whole lot of wiggle. At 16.5 pounds, he’s a bright, affectionate puppy who brings sunshine into every room. When he gets excited, his whole body wiggles — it’s impossible not to smile when he’s around. He’s incredibly smart and already knows sit, down, kennel, and go potty. He loves praise, learns quickly, and is eager to keep building on his training. Cheeto is doing great with potty training and goes right away when taken outside. He’s also crate trained and can make it through the night without accidents. During the day, he’s playful, curious, and adventurous. He loves squeaky toys, tug&#226&#128&#145of&#226&#128&#145war, and especially playing with his brother. After he’s had his fun, he’s a top&#226&#128&#145tier snuggler who loves curling up close for affection. Cheeto is friendly with adults and warms up quickly to new people. He rides well in the car and has a sweet, affectionate nature. He’s a wonderful mix of playful and cuddly — a pup who loves to learn, loves to love, and wants to be part of everything his family is doing. Cheeto has been inconsistent with very young children. He adores the 6&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old in his foster home, but with the 3&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, he has shown anxious behaviors such as barking and occasional lunging when unsure. Because of this, Cheeto will do best in a home with either no children, or only with older, respectful children who understand boundaries and dog body language. Cheeto plays wonderfully with his brother, but when meeting new dogs, he can be territorial at first — barking or growling during introductions. He does best with calm, gentle, “beta&#226&#128&#145type” dogs and will need slow, structured introductions. Once he feels safe, he enjoys canine companionship. Cheeto Dust is affectionate, goofy, intelligent, and eager to please. He’s looking for a family who will guide him with patience, continue his training, and help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. If you’re ready for a joyful, loving pup with a big heart and an even bigger wiggle, Cheeto is ready to meet you. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Maryann showed up at a good Samaritan's house. The good Samaritan brought her to our facility, and we took her in. Well, how could we resist. She was so frightened and scared but is doing much better now. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. Who couldn't resist her face. She is so adorable and she needs a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. The foster that has her now says she is coming out of her shell and is very playful and full of life. She is very curious and so affectionate. She will be great for any family to have as a family member. She is in TN but the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Meet Cole, a sweet little guy that loves to give sad puppy eyes to get what he wants! It’s clear that he’s simply happy to be safe, warm, and surrounded by people. He greets everyone with a friendly hello, soaking up attention and affection like he’s been waiting his whole life for it. Cole’s story started out a little rough. His mom gave birth and cared for her puppies outside, eventually taking shelter under a shed during very cold weather. She did everything she could to keep them alive and protected. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan found the little family and brought them inside to safety until rescue could step in. As a young puppy, Cole is still learning the basics. He’ll need continued potty training and all the normal puppy lessons—manners, routines, and guidance to help him grow into a well-rounded adult dog. The good news is that he’s eager to please and has a naturally gentle temperament that will make training a rewarding experience. He does well with everyone he meets and has a calm, sweet nature. He tolerates being in his crate and is learning that it can be a safe, cozy place to rest. Like any puppy, he enjoys playing with toys and exploring his surroundings, but he isn’t overly wild—his personality leans more toward tender and affectionate than rowdy. Cole is ready for a forever home that will be patient, consistent, and excited to help him learn. In return, he’ll offer a lifetime of loyalty, sweetness, and the quiet joy that comes from watching a once-chilly little survivor grow into a beloved family companion. Cole is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/7/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

Story
Meet Piper, a sweet little survivor with a bright spirit and a spunky personality. Like her brother Cole, Piper came from humble beginnings. Her mom bravely cared for her puppies outside, sheltering them under a shed during bitter cold weather until a kind Good Samaritan brought them to safety. Because of that second chance, Piper is now thriving and ready to find a family of her own. While she shares her brother’s sweet nature, Piper is the most outgoing of the litter. She’s confident, curious, and always ready to be part of whatever is happening around her. She loves to follow her person from room to room, just to make sure you don’t forget about her. And once you scoop her up, she melts right in for some snuggles. Piper is still a young puppy, so she’ll need basic training and continued potty training as she grows. With her friendly personality and eagerness to connect, she has all the makings of a wonderful, well-rounded companion. She enjoys playtime, loves attention, and balances her puppy energy with plenty of sweetness. Piper would thrive in a home ready to guide her, love her, and include her as part of the family. In return, she’ll offer devotion, cuddles, and the joyful presence only a happy, outgoing puppy can bring. Piper is from Texas. Story
Hi, my name is Anastasia and I am from Texas! From her foster: Anastasia is an energetic, happy puppy who loves to play with her dogs friends, her people, or both - she's not picky! She is potty trained and kennel trained (sleeps 8hr overnight). She has access to a fenced back yard and is loving the space to run around and explore. She is higher energy so would do well with daily activity or a dog friend to play with, however she balances this nicely by being very directable to her toys and bones. She loves going on walks and would be the perfect buddy for any and all outdoor activities! She is smart and catches on quickly, loves praise and treats so it has been easy to work on training with her. She would love to be your buddy!

Hi, my name is Holly and I am from Kentucky! From her foster: Holly is a very sweet puppy who enjoys taking long naps because she is still growing, when she is awake she enjoys playing with her toys, she potty training and does well with a schedule. She sleeps well in her crate at night and during the day, though it takes a bit to settle down in there. When not in the crate and I leave the room she and her sister can be quite vocal until I return, so still working on puppy training!
