Story
Paige is a sweet, loving girl with a big heart and a personality that shines. She’s the kind of dog who greets you with excitement every time she sees you. In fact, Paige has her own special way of saying hello — she’ll happily “talk” to you with adorable little row-row sounds that are sure to make you smile. Paige loves being around people and is friendly with everyone she meets. If you sit down on the floor, don’t be surprised if she quickly climbs right into your lap to soak up some affection. She truly enjoys being close to her people and is happiest when she’s getting attention and love. This playful girl has a fun balance of energy. She enjoys walks, playing fetch, toys, and even water, but she also knows how to settle down and relax after playtime. Because she’s still a young dog, she benefits from regular activity to help burn off some energy and keep her happy. Paige is leash trained, crate trained, and does well in the car. She doesn’t bark excessively, though she does like to “talk” to her people in her own cute way. Her goofy personality, intelligence, and eagerness to please make her a wonderful companion who will easily bond with her family. Paige’s story shows just how devoted she is. She was found living under a shed with her litter of puppies, doing everything she could to keep them safe and warm from the freezing weather. Her strength and dedication as a mama say so much about her loving nature. She has done well around other dogs when she is not in protective mom mode, and she is comfortable with children and adults alike. Cats are unknown since she hasn’t been introduced to them. With her affectionate personality, playful spirit, and adorable “talking,” Paige is sure to bring laughter, love, and companionship to the lucky family who welcomes her home. 💛 Paige is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/21/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about this program. ---- This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease and is available through our Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian. Click Here to learn more about heartworm disease.

Story
Maryann showed up at a good Samaritan's house. The good Samaritan brought her to our facility, and we took her in. Well, how could we resist. She was so frightened and scared but is doing much better now. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. Who couldn't resist her face. She is so adorable and she needs a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. The foster that has her now says she is coming out of her shell and is very playful and full of life. She is very curious and so affectionate. She will be great for any family to have as a family member. She is in TN but the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Lyric is the kind of puppy who feels a little like discovering a wildflower in a quiet field—beautiful, a little shy at first, and full of life once she begins to open up. This sweet merle girl may start off a bit reserved with new people, but it doesn’t take long before her playful and affectionate personality shines through. Once Lyric feels safe, her joyful puppy spirit really comes to life. She loves to explore, play, and bounce around with the happy curiosity that only young dogs seem to have. Her gentle nature makes her especially endearing—she’s the kind of dog who watches carefully, learns quickly, and slowly grows more confident every day. Lyric enjoys the company of other dogs and benefits from having canine friends around to help her feel comfortable and show her the ropes. She would do well in a home that understands that shy puppies just need a little patience and encouragement to blossom. With kindness and consistency, Lyric will continue to grow into a confident, loving companion. At just six months old, Lyric still has her whole life ahead of her. She’s ready for a family who will help her discover the world, celebrate her small victories, and give her the safe place she deserves to call home. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle puppy who will grow alongside you and fill your life with joy, Lyric may be the perfect match. Local adoption fee is $250(in TX)

Good with dogs,
Story
Hi, my name is Skooby and I am from Missouri! From his foster: Skooby is a sweet and goofy little dude with a squawky bark and floppy ears. He learned quickly that my grumpy senior dog was not interested in playing and he just steered clear. He held his own playing with my giant Pyr mix instead. He's super sweet and gentle with little kids, and loves to play with his toys, and is content to snooze in a cozy spot. He sleeps through the night, but still needs work on potty training. He's a bit of an escape artist so a crate is better than a gate if he can't be monitored. I only kenneled him for 2hrs at a time and he did okay. He protests at first, but settles down after a while.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!         Bad Bunny is a bouncy, joyful Southern mix puppy who lives up to his name in the cutest way — full of hops, wiggles, and playful energy. He’s an affectionate, sweet little guy who loves attention, loves to play, and loves cuddling once he’s had his fun. He and his brother Snoop Dog are inseparable playmates, and he’d thrive in a home with another friendly dog. Like any young puppy, Bad Bunny is curious about everything and loves to explore. He’ll happily chew on toys and safe items, and while he does put things in his mouth, he’s gentle and hasn’t destroyed anything so far. With plenty of toys and supervision, he stays busy and content. He’s making progress with potty training and does well when kept on a routine. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, though during the day he may bark if he sees people and feels left out. Because he’s tiny, skittish in new situations, and a flight risk, Bad Bunny requires a fully secure 6&#226&#128&#145foot fenced yard with no gaps he could slip through. He’s still learning how to walk on a leash and needs a properly fitted harness so he can’t wiggle out. With patience and gentle guidance, he’ll gain confidence. He shows mild curiosity toward the resident cat but hasn’t had close interactions yet, so his behavior with cats is still unknown. He’s great with other dogs and would do best in a home with a canine companion. In fact, he would be absolutely thrilled to be adopted with his brother Snoop Dog, though it’s not required. Bad Bunny is affectionate, goofy, intelligent, and eager to please. He’s beginning to learn his name, “come,” and “go potty,” and he’s smart enough to pick up new skills quickly. He’s a high&#226&#128&#145energy, loving little buddy who will make a wonderful companion for someone patient, gentle, and ready for puppy life. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, cuddly pup who will bring joy and laughter into your home, Bad Bunny is ready to hop right into your heart — and maybe bring his brother along too. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Mabel is a cuddly girl who loves couch snuggles, pets from her humans, and pretending she’s a lap dog. She has medium energy with short bursts for walks or enrichment toys, but she’s just as happy napping in a sunny spot. She thrives on routine—two meals a day, sleeping in her kennel at night, pottying on request, and enjoying a bully stick or Kong. Mabel would do best as the only dog, though she ignores cats and could live in a cat home. She walks beautifully on leash and also enjoys zooming in a large yard. She’s completed a basic group training course plus 9 months of daycare/training, mastering obedience skills like sit, down, heel, place, kennel, wait, and doorway manners. She has shown resource guarding with other dogs around high-value items and spaces. Mabel is spayed, fully vaccinated (including Bordetella and Lyme), microchipped, and has no special medical or dietary needs.
