Story
Hey there, I'm Coffee! Now, don't be fooled by my name, I'm no caffeine jolt, just a curious gal who ended up here due to my insatiable curiosity. You see, I was living with a baker and one day, I decided to investigate the oven. I thought, 'Is it like a warm bed?' Well, nope! I caused a minor bread riot and well, here I am! But don't worry, I've learned my lesson - ovens are not for dogs. I promise to keep my nose out of trouble (and ovens) if you adopt me. I'll be your loyal companion, no loafing around!

Story
Hiya! I'm Freckles, the canine mastermind. Ever wondered how I ended up here? Well, it involves a squirrel, a trampoline, and a very surprised mailman. I saw a squirrel, chased it, and ended up bouncing on a trampoline right into the mailman's bag! The next thing I knew, I was at the shelter, making new friends. But let me tell you, I've got a lot more bounce left in me! Adopt me, and I promise you'll never have a dull moment. After all, who needs a squirrel when you've got a Freckles?

Story
Hey there, I'm Bugster! I ended up here in the shelter due to my curiosity. You see, I had this thing for chasing squirrels. One day, I followed a particularly sassy one and ended up lost! Oops! I spent a night in a tree, a day in a bakery (don't ask), and eventually, a kind lady brought me here. I've learned my lesson, promise! No more squirrel-chasing... well, maybe just a little. Adopt me, and I promise to bring joy, laughter, and just a smidgen of squirrel-related mischief into your life!

Story
Marley has spent almost two years waiting for something most dogs are given without question — a home. Born around February, 2023, this strikingly handsome Catahoula mix boy has grown up in a shelter, watching the world move past him while he stays behind in a kennel run. It’s hard to understand how a dog so joyful, so loving, and so eager to connect has been overlooked for so long.  Maybe it's because he isn't in a big city where people frequent the local shelter looking a dog to love.  Marley is in a very rural ,out of the way shelter that few people come to. Marley is the kind of dog who lights up when someone notices him. He is friendly, social, and genuinely happy just to be included. He gets along well with other dogs and older children, and his favorite thing in the world is simply being part of the moment — whether that means splashing in water, running around outside, or settling in as your loyal couch companion. Time has softened Marley in the best ways. While he still has a playful spirit, he’s matured into a wonderfully balanced dog who knows how to enjoy both adventure and quiet companionship. He leans into affection, seeks out closeness, and gives love freely — the kind of love that feels steady, sincere, and deeply comforting. What Marley is missing isn’t training or potential — it’s belonging. He deserves a family who sees him not as another face in a kennel, but as a best friend waiting patiently for his turn. A home where he can stretch his legs, rest his head on your lap, and finally understand that he’s safe and chosen. Marley is sweet. He is beautiful. He is ready. He has already waited long enough. He deserves more than a kennel. He deserves mornings in a home, evenings with his head in your lap, and a life where he's finally chosen. If you're looking for a dog who will meet you with joy, loyalty, and an open heart every single day... Marley Is still at the shelter, still hoping, and still ready to go home. Even if all you can do is foster him while Critter Cavalry searches for a home, please consider the option to free him. All he needs is someone to look at him and say, you’re coming home with me. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Please consider Marley and changing his life from a kennel run to a soft dog bed laying at your feet. Don't hesitate to contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 26, 2026, 6:54 pm

Story
Meet Iris Lou A stunning Catahoula Leopard Dog with a heart as beautiful as her spots Iris Lou is the kind of dog who gently tiptoes into your life… and then curls right up into your heart. This sweet girl is affectionate, gentle, and an absolute cuddle-bug once she feels safe. She can be a little shy at first, but give her a moment and she’ll show you her loyal, loving soul. Iris is dog-friendly and truly prefers having canine companions around. She feels most confident when she has dog friends nearby and thrives in a home where she isn’t the only four-legged heartbeat. She’s also a bit protective of her people, the good kind that watches over you with quiet devotion. One of her most endearing quirks? Her goofy, crooked smile. Iris curls one side of her lip up and shows her teeth, which might look intimidating at first glance, but it’s actually her way of saying “I trust you.” It’s a submissive, affectionate gesture and one of the many things that makes her uniquely Iris. She’s fully committed to outdoor pottying and will not use potty pads. Outside is the only acceptable bathroom in her world. She also loves carrying her stuffies outdoors… though fair warning, they rarely survive the adventure. &#239&#184&#143 Iris Lou’s story is one of quiet resilience. She was dumped on the same county road where another rescue dog, Lily, was found. For weeks, Iris hid in the brush, surviving with the help of kind people who left her food and water. Slowly, patiently, Corey earned her trust, and once she decided she was safe, she never looked back. She walked into her foster home and made herself part of the family almost instantly. Unlike many dogs with her past, Iris has no desire to wander off. When she chooses you, she chooses you. Iris Lou is looking for a loving home where she can feel secure, have doggy friends, enjoy cuddles, and flash that sweet, silly smile every day. If you’re ready for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a survivor’s spirit, Iris Lou may be your girl. Adopt Iris Lou and give this beautiful soul the forever she’s been waiting for.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 28, 2026, 5:07 pm
