Story
Enjoy the warm sea breeze and sunshine?    Then welcome Maui to your house for everyday joys!    This medium sized girl is the whole package!    She is a fun loving outdoor companion as well as an inside couch companion and bed warmer. Maui gets along well with other dogs (not cats or livestock). She loves people and loves going for truck/car rides, hikes and boat outings. Her joy is spending time with her people and dog friends. She’s been good around children too. She would do best in a home where she gets to be a large part of your day to say so a work from home situation would be ideal!    She is housetrained and uses a doggie door to her fenced yard. Maui has the cutest ears and stunning blue eyes!    We think she’s a Catahoula/pit mix. She is spayed microchipped and utd on vaccines and pro heart. She is in a foster home so if interested in meeting Maui please submit an application for pre-approval then we can set up a meet and greet!    Adoption fee $250  www.mmahrescue.orgOur hospital is open for adoption visitation Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:00pm and Saturday's from 8:00am to 11:00am.  If you have any questions please feel free to call us at             919-266-8177 or email pets4adoption@bellsouth.net.  All adoption fees are cash or check only, we do not accept credit cards for adoption fees. To speed up the adoption process please visit our webiste, www.mmahrescue.org, to fill out an application and get pre-approved when you arrive to meet your new best friend!  Prior to meeting an adoptable animal we do require an approved application to be on file, sorry for this inconvenience.  Cat adoption fees are $50 for kittens under 16 weeks of age and $75 for kittens/cats over 16 weeks of age.  Dog adoption fees are $150 for puppies under 16 weeks of age and $175 for dogs over 16 weeks of age. Story
One blue eye and one hazel eye? This gorgeous girl is Pixie, an 11-month old , 40 lb. Catahoula mix who is ready for a new home with you and your fun-loving, energetic, and tolerant male or female dog! As always, a slow introduction between your dog and a new dog on neutral territory is a good way to start. Because of her tendency to be a mouthy puppy, she may not be a good fit for a home with young children. Pixie's foster reports that she is besties with her 3-year old female pittie, and respectful of her 3-year old male hound who is more reserved and mellow. She loves her people, too! Pixie is nearly fully potty-trained, but as a puppy, she needs to be let outside to do her business every 2-3 hours, making her the perfect companion for a work-from-home pet owner. Otherwise, she is treat-motivated and responds well to praise, so training her to use a doggie door should be possible. As a Catahoula mix, Pixie has and will continue to have a lot of energy, so an active family (with a dog, preferably) would be a great fit! One last thing: Pixie will have a slight limp her entire life, as she suffered a broken leg before coming to the shelter; however, she has recovered well and is ready to go home!Pixie is in foster, so she isn't at the shelter currently. If you are interested in learning more about Pixie, please reach out at wcacdogfoster@gmail.com!Pixie is up-to-date on vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and she is microchipped and spayed. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 38 Age: 0yrs 11mths 2wks

Story
Handsome Bambino came to us as a stray in mid June and has been a great BAS resident. He`s almost 2 years old and is a happy boy (especially when a pool is involved!). Dog Day Out notes, 3/16/24:We did a hike and picnic with Bambino. He does well with the car ride. Bambino was so well behaved. Pulls a bit on leash in the beginning but listens to certain commands. He enjoyed the hike and liked to carry his tennis ball most of the day. Foster notes, 12/22/23:Bambino is a great companion! He’s super loving with lots of hugs and kisses. He’s agile and likes to play, catching balls and ropes high up in the air and bringing them back for more fun. Bambino is immediately people friendly and can be dog friendly but needs a day or two to get used to them (nothing unusual). He loves going for walks in new places, car rides, and sleeping on the couch but he hates going out in the rain (understandably). Bambino is highly house trained. He can go the work day without having an accident and doesn’t get into anything bad — he just sleeps on the couch. He is sometimes chained in the backyard for a quick bathroom break when I’m home but can be left unsupervised for some time out there. Commands:Sit — very goodDown — goodStay — okay Come — very goodLook at me — good Bambino is truly a great, loving, fun dog and would be perfect for anyone looking for a best friend.Dog Day Out note, 10/7/23: Well, Bambino certainly knocks it outta the park being a great adventure buddy, eager to explore in the trails and a great car rider! He seemed to really enjoy our walk in the trails and moves at a good pace while still taking the time to smell the roses and stop and look around to take it all in. He`s a good mix of quiet and independent but still social and will play around with you and get on his back for a belly rub! Overall a really easy dog to take for a day and sure to make his future adopter a great companion. He`s housetrained, enjoyed meeting new people, loving and affectionate, and good on leash. He was a little shy at first but really came out of his shell by the end of the day.
