Story
Handsome Bambino came to us as a stray in mid June and has been a great BAS resident. He`s almost 2 years old and is a happy boy (especially when a pool is involved!). Volunteer notes, 5/2/24:I have played with Bambino several times now and my conclusion is that his behavior is very consistent, and he warms up steadily over time. Each time I have played with him we`ve understood each other better. He is a good communicator, and if you listen to his cues, and let him chew on his toys when he wants to, he is the friendliest and gentlest boy you can imagine. The only time he ever growled at me was when I tried to take something from him before he was ready. He used his words; what more can you ask for?! He is smart and I believe he could learn to share his toys more readily with some consistent, positive, patient training. He has the sweetest floppy ears and cutest little cow spots on his back, along with a lovely speckled coat. He will be a great active companion for the lucky person who respects his things and earns his trust! I see the potential for great loyalty from this dog!Dog Day Out notes, 4/19/24:Bambino went on a hike at the beautiful Cates Farm Park in Mebane. He`s one smart and friendly boy. He pulled on the leash at first and would get excitable in the car, around other dogs, and when other people passed. But he is easily corrected with some instruction on the leash. He`s very treat-motivated and will sit for treats. After a hike, we went to the Mebane Dog Park, where he played with his tennis ball and hung out in the shade. Bambino is very loving and affectionate.Volunteer notes, 4/18/24:We had a great time in the play yard with Bambino today! He loved to chase balls and would bring them back and drop them politely for us to throw. When he sat down to chew on a ball, he did not want pets, but otherwise he was friendly and affectionate. He was very eager to get into the play yard but calmed down quickly.Dog Day Out notes, 3/16/24:We did a hike and picnic with Bambino. He does well with the car ride. Bambino was so well behaved. Pulls a bit on leash in the beginning but listens to certain commands. He enjoyed the hike and liked to carry his tennis ball most of the day. Foster notes, 12/22/23:Bambino is a great companion! He’s super loving with lots of hugs and kisses. He’s agile and likes to play, catching balls and ropes high up in the air and bringing them back for more fun. Bambino is

Story
One blue eye and one hazel eye? This gorgeous girl is Pixie, an 11-month old , 40 lb. Catahoula mix who is ready for a new home with you and your fun-loving, energetic, and tolerant male or female dog! As always, a slow introduction between your dog and a new dog on neutral territory is a good way to start. Because of her tendency to be a mouthy puppy, she may not be a good fit for a home with young children. Pixie's foster reports that she is besties with her 3-year old female pittie, and respectful of her 3-year old male hound who is more reserved and mellow. She loves her people, too! Pixie is nearly fully potty-trained, but as a puppy, she needs to be let outside to do her business every 2-3 hours, making her the perfect companion for a work-from-home pet owner. Otherwise, she is treat-motivated and responds well to praise, so training her to use a doggie door should be possible. As a Catahoula mix, Pixie has and will continue to have a lot of energy, so an active family (with a dog, preferably) would be a great fit! One last thing: Pixie will have a slight limp her entire life, as she suffered a broken leg before coming to the shelter; however, she has recovered well and is ready to go home!Pixie is in foster, so she isn't at the shelter currently. If you are interested in learning more about Pixie, please reach out at wcacdogfoster@gmail.com!Pixie is up-to-date on vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and she is microchipped and spayed. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 38 Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
These two guys are the very best of friends and we would love for them to find a home together. Both have been in our adoption program since 2018. They really want a home with a fenced in yard because they love to lay out in the sunshine during good weather. However, they don't want to be "outside only" dogs. They want to be able sleep inside at night, be inside during bad weather, and of course for cuddles and snuggles. Beau's DOB is 7/13/2011 and he weighs 39 pounds. He came into rescue after being hit by a car and had paralysis in his back legs. After lots of rest and rehabilitation he recovered and is now walking. Beau is easygoing and loves to bask in the sunshine. He takes treats gently and walks nicely on a leash. He likes to play with Chato and Chato seems to know that Beau can't roughhouse. Beau is looking for a home with a gentle lifestyle with his best friend Chato. Beau will also need to stay at a healthy weight. Beau is current on vaccines, neutered, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. If you are interested in Beau and Chato, go to www.tysorvet.net and click on the adoption tab. There you will find a link to the adoption application. Chato's DOB is 7/16/2017 and he weighs 41 pounds. He was originally rescued by a rescue organization but developed a urinary tract infection and they surrendered him to our adoption program. Chato is a very sweet low key pup. If you are lucky he will curl up his top lip to give you a grin. Chato takes treats gencly and walks nicely on a leash. He loves his best friend, Beau. Chato loves being out in the backyard with Beau and will often get "the zoomies" when you engage him in play. His coat is a lovely white with some patches of light brown. He will benefit from regular brushing. Chato is current on vaccines, neutered, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. If you are interested in Beau and Chato go to www.tysorvet.net and click on the adoption tab. There you will find a link to the adoption application.
