Zero is a great pup. He's from an accidental litter last Thanksgiving. He plays with children, doesn't run off, just wants attention and love. We must move and have too many animals. We want to see him go to a good home.

He gives big, raspy borks sometimes, but it feels more like a warning to the world that he’s tired and unsure. He walks well on leash. He isn’t overly affectionate but he loves food. Treats are his joy. He’ll catch them mid-air with impressive accuracy, and when offered a can of wet food, he allowed full handling without hesitation… then inhaled it like a man who’s learned food isn’t always guaranteed. Chief feels like a dog who is missing his person, the only constant he’s known, even if that life wasn’t perfect. Seniors feel loss deeply and shelters are especially cruel places for them.Chief did not test well with other dogs and may need to be the only pet. When tested, he showed clear discomfort and escalation when another dog got close. He needs a quiet, adult-only home, or a hospice foster, where he can rest, eat well, and feel safe for whatever time he has left. However he was found in 2021 with another dog in a hotel room so there may be potential outside of the shelter environment.   ##2617110##

He is a great companion for an active family with a secure 6 ft fence, children over 12 years of age or active single person. Catahoula experience is recommended. He is an indoor dog. He likes walks, car rides, toys. and dog beds. He will require daily walks and some dog training. Will require 6 ft fence. No apartments or rentals. No cats.
