Story
Our dog has been with us since she was a puppy. She was traumatized as a puppy when a large white husky attacked her, leaving an adversion to other dogs. However, she stsrts to deool and whine around golden labs and retrievers. It's really cute. Ever since COVID pur family has been fighting for stability in home and finances. We finally found a way to move into a home and not live in a hotel, which is why we are needed to rehome her. Her last vet visit was 2021 and will need updates on shot. She is a real sweet, loving 13 year old dog. She grew up with cats and kids her whole kid and has been trained. We have been treating her for fleas but other than that she has been chewing on herself off and on a lot. We just really want her to be in a good forever home where she can be loved and enjoy more space than the hotel room we were in. Any more questions please contact Scott @ 702-626-300. Photos wouldn't load so request and we can share them with you.

Story
Birdie is the kind of dog that makes people stop mid-sentence. The very first thing anyone says when they see her is some version of “she is stunning!” And truly, she is. Those striking looks, those soulful eyes, that whole elegant houndy presence. She looks like she belongs in a painting draped across a wrap-around porch in a cozy country home somewhere. Estimated to be around 1.5 years old and weighing 65 lbs, Birdie appears to maybe be a Catahoula/Coonhound mix, but rescue rules apply, so breed and age are our best guess. Go watch Birdie on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this quiet, tender-hearted beauty. https://youtu.be/mBT7QK3zsDo For all of Birdie’s striking appearance though, what stands out most once you spend time with her is how incredibly gentle she is. This is not a bold, barreling, rough-and-tumble kind of dog. Birdie moves through the world thoughtfully. Softly. She approaches new people, dogs, cats, and environments with a careful sweetness that feels incredibly endearing. Not fearful, not shut down, just sensitive in a very genuine way. She likes a moment to take things in and figure out that the kind gentleness will be matched. And once she feels safe? You can practically see her shoulders relax. Within moments of meeting her, we had to give her a bath after something spilled on her, and Birdie handled the whole thing with such patience and trust. No fuss, no dramatics, just quiet cooperation and understanding from a girl who clearly wants to do her best. She takes treats with the softest mouth, tolerated a spicy little chihuahua beautifully, and handled interactions with a spicy cat with the same calm restraint. She consistently chooses gentleness. Birdie would thrive in a home that appreciates slower introductions and a softer approach to life. The funny thing about dogs like Birdie is that if you let them settle at their own pace, they become comfortable much faster. She does not need someone to force confidence out of her. She needs someone who understands that quiet trust is real trust. We would especially love to see Birdie in a calmer home environment. Big busy city life, constant chaos, and nonstop activity do not feel like her lane. She seems much more like a peaceful mornings, cozy routines, yard sniffing, laying near your feet kind of girl. We also think she would really benefit from a kind, confident canine companion who could help show her the ropes and reassure her while she adjusts to a new home. Older kids who can match her pace while getting to know her would be best if she is joining a family home. She met a 5 and 7 year old and was lovely with them, taking treats gently and following them around with a curious nurturing presence. Birdie is beautiful, yes. Undeniably. But the real magic about her is that underneath all that beauty is an exceptionally tender heart. The kind of dog who does not demand attention but quietly earns her way into yours anyway. If Birdie pulls you in with her gentle ways and good look, apply today! She is ready and waiting to come home! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69f8c4ff7fa5b91bcc0b672c Questions? Story
Meet Tigger, with his bright eyes, puppy energy, and affectionate nature, you’ve got a pup who’s as beautiful on the outside as he is sweet on the inside! Tigger is a social, loving boy who’s always ready to make friends, soak up attention, and bring joy wherever he goes! Watch his video here! https://youtu.be/hohA40FoOrg?feature=shared This 1 year-old pup has a coat as unique as his personality! We think this handsome boy is a Catahoula Leopard Dog and Australian Cattle Dog mix (no promises!) whose fur is a stunning swirl of black, white, and apricot—he looks like he’s both a blue heeler and a red heeler all at once. He is truly a beautiful boy! Tigger is a people-lover through and through—he knows no strangers! He’s the type of pup who melts right into belly rubs and rolls over when he gets excited. Still very much a puppy, he takes treats enthusiastically and has a playful side that shines when toys are around. What really makes him special is his affectionate personality! He’s eager to check in with his people, loves attention, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. For a young pup who hasn’t had much leash experience, Tigger picked it up impressively fast! He responds well to gentle corrections, looks to his handler for guidance, and is eager to please. He's already learning sit, and he walks in his crate like a pro. He’ll still need some polishing as he grows, but his willingness to learn makes him a dream to train! When it comes to other dogs, Tigger is submissive and respectful. It can take him a little while to feel fully comfortable, but once he warms up, he’ll happily run and play. If things get overwhelming, he defaults to rolling on his back in a sweet show of submission. He stayed brave, and he’s still growing into his full potential, so some hesitancy is normal! Because of this, he’d do best with a confident, gentle, and fair-playing dog sibling—or he could be perfectly happy as the star of the show in a one-dog home! Tigger is also cat tolerant. At first, he was curious and followed a cat around to sniff, but when the cat tried to play, he became more cautious and avoided interaction. With time and guidance, especially since he’s at a great age to learn, he could adapt well to living with a feline friend! Thanks to his sweet, people-friendly nature, Tigger could be a wonderful match for families with children. He may need a little help with manners, but his submissive and affectionate personality make him a safe, loving companion. He would love to go out on family outings, long adventures, or just cuddle up on the couch! He would be a fantastic addition to family life! Tigger would thrive in many different types of homes. Whether you live in a house with a yard or an apartment, he’ll be happy as long as he has people to love and play with. He’d especially enjoy a home with a medium-energy doggy sibling to romp around with. Since he’s such a social pup, he’ll shine on outings to parks, trails, or pet-friendly spots around town. At just six months old, Tigger has his whole life ahead of him. With continued positivity, patience, and training, he’s destined to grow into a well-mannered, loyal companion. He’s a sweet, social boy with a stunning coat, a big heart, and endless love to give—now he just needs a forever family to share it all with. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Shredder may have a fierce name, but this little guy is really just a goofy, lovable puppy who lives for playtime and attention. This Catahoula Leopard Dog and Pitbull mix boy is around three months old and full of personality. First things first, you should definitely watch their video: https://youtu.be/J-CijmQWwyA?si=ktlOgEK9YNi9Of5m It perfectly captures their playful, silly puppy energy. Shredder is very, very extremely playful and loves wrestling and tumbling around with his siblings. Their games can get pretty wild, and they actually play pretty rough with each other in that joyful puppy way. Because of that, they need to go with owners who will be good and ready to help guide them as they grow. Shredder is the kind of puppy who seems to wake up excited about life. Every toy is the best toy ever. Every room is a new place to explore. Every sibling is a potential wrestling partner. He’s playful, curious, and always ready for a good time, but he also has a very sweet side. He enjoys attention from people and will happily soak up pets when he’s taking a break from his busy puppy schedule. Shredder will do best in a home ready for an active, playful puppy and excited about helping him grow into the wonderful dog he’s meant to be. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Soft-eyed, soulful, and quietly full of love... this is Pippa Love. She has one of those faces that makes you pause for a second, and then those eyes take over completely. They are the kind of eyes that look like they could keep your secrets and your whole life story with understanding and love. Pippa has a calm, tender presence about her, and while she likes to take it a little slower at first, there is something very special waiting on the other side of that trust. Go watch her in action on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this soft-hearted, secret-keeping girl. https://youtu.be/nvk6M2jcc8s Pippa Love is estimated to be around 2.5 years old and weighs 66 lbs. She appears to be a Catahoula and Pittie mix, though with rescue, breed and age are always our best guess. What we do know is that she is a loving girl with a gentle spirit, a calm way about her, and the kind of sweetness that feels even more meaningful because it is earned slowly and honestly. On leash, Pippa is easygoing and enjoyable. She is more of a leisurely stroller than a power walker, and she loves a little guided sweet talk, she does not thrive under stern pressure so keep it sweet. Harsh corrections or too stern a voice go right for her feels so what she really needs is someone who understands that confidence with new routines or places is not rushed, it is built. Give her that kind of kindness and patience, and she is absolutely going to show you her quiet confidence. With other dogs, Pippa has shown us a really lovely balance. She takes meeting new dogs on leash slow and steady but softens quickly into a playful, light-hearted girl who loves a good round of chase. She is thoughtful at first, but once she feels comfortable, she knows how to have fun. What we really love is how beautifully she can shift her playstyle according to the dog. From itty-bitty dogs who were nervous, to larger than her dogs pushing her to play, she adjusts accordingly. We have seen she does not overcorrect or overmanage other dogs in large playgroups and that is such a nice quality. Because of that, we think Pippa could do really well in a home with a medium-energy dog who enjoys a little running and play, especially one who can help show her the ropes without overwhelming her. She would also likely enjoy a home with a yard or a quieter, more suburban-style apartment setting where she can settle in at her own pace. Once she opens up, we can easily picture her becoming that wiggly, devoted family dog who feels deeply and loves fully. Pippa Love is not the kind of dog who barges into the room and demands the spotlight. She is the kind who quietly becomes your whole world. The kind you look over at one day and realize you cannot imagine the house without her in it. The kind whose soft eyes and gentle heart sneak up on you in the very best way. If you are looking for a dog with depth, sweetness, and a truly lovely spirit, Pippa Love is your girl!
