WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌸🐾 Meet Shirley — A Soft Soul with a Big Heart (and a Little Extra Fluff) 🐾🌸 Shirley is a June 2023 baby, weighing in at about 60 pounds — though her ideal weight is closer to 50 (she’s currently rocking that “well-loved” look 😄). She’s spayed, fully vetted, and comes with what can only be described as an impressively solid resume for a family dog. Shirley checks all the important boxes: ✅ Good with other dogs ✅ Great with kids ✅ House trained ✅ Up to date on vaccines ✅ Loyal, loving, and well-mannered ✅ Professional belly-rub enthusiast At first, Shirley can be a teeny bit shy — the kind of girl who likes to observe before jumping in — but give her a moment and she’ll melt right into you. Once she trusts you, she’s all about the belly rubs, quiet companionship, and loyal sidekick energy. She’s sweet, gentle, and has a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she just wants to be near her people, soaking up love and offering it right back. Whether it’s lounging at your feet, joining you for a walk, or quietly supervising household activities, Shirley is happy just being part of a family. And yes… she could stand to lose a few pounds — but honestly, that just means more motivation to strap on that fitbit and getting your steps in... together, right? 😉 Shirley is ready for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished — a place where she can finally settle in and be someone’s “good girl” for life. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Shirley the forever home she so deeply deserves. 🐾💖

Story
Meet Cassidy, the almost three-year-old catahoula –lab mix (we think!) who looks like a tiny tiger, smiles like a cartoon character, and has the voice of someone who always has thoughts to share. Her coat is this gorgeous almost-brindle swirl, and when the sun hits her just right, she looks like a cinnamon roll with legs. Cassidy is a toy enthusiast — truly, professionally. The moment you open the door to the backyard, she launches herself outside like, “HELLO, I HAVE IMPORTANT FETCH BUSINESS TO ATTEND TO.” She’ll grab her favorite toy, trot over to you proudly, and then gently nudge the ball toward your feet like a little soccer prodigy trying out for Team USA. And if you take too long to throw it? Don’t worry. She’ll speak. And yes, she knows speak on command… but she also knows sit, lay down, shake, spin, and approximately 700 versions of “look how cute I am.” Watch her video to see her cuteness in action! https://youtu.be/JIxHe-4Cbys?si=xA-WBDHLj2V176Ma Cassidy is a sweet, sensitive gal who really blossoms when things are calm and predictable. She’s not the “jump right into your lap within five seconds” type — she’s more of a “let me observe everything first, narrate it out loud, and then decide you are my person forever” vibe. Once she settles in, though, she is loyal, goofy, snuggly, and full of personality. With other dogs, she’s kind of like the kid in class who wants friends but also wants everyone to please, respectfully, not tackle her. She LOVES hanging out with chill dogs who greet politely and don’t smash into her like a furry wrecking ball. She actually thrives with a doggy buddy who’s calm, confident, and happy to co-exist or do low-key play. Think: “let’s vibe together” energy, not “LET’S WRESTLE RIGHT NOW.” Perfect balance. Cassidy also lives with a cat! Biggie the cat did his “I am fearless and will walk directly up to this dog like I own the planet” thing, and Cassidy was like “ummm… boundaries??” But in a normal home where cats do normal cat things, she coexists just fine — she’s just not prepared for a cat who introduces himself so eagerly. We would definitely recommend some more kitty testing just to ensure that Cassidy is feline friend approved! She’s also living with older kiddos who think her “talking” is hilarious and adorable — because it is. She chats, but not in a “problem” way, more like “I am full of opinions and I would like them known.” For younger kids, we’d want to test things out just to make sure everybody is on the same wavelength of “Cassidy’s voice = comedy, not concern.” She can also be a bit jumpy, spinny, and overall bouncy, so older kiddos might be best overall! Cassidy would love a home where nobody minds a little joyful barking, where neighbors aren’t going to file a complaint when she announces “GOOD MORNING, I AM EXCITED!” A house with a backyard is definitely her dream — it’s her stage, her stadium, her fetch arena. She will need some decompression and patience at first, but once she finds her people, she is all in. Silly, smart, loyal, toy-obsessed, talkative, gentle-hearted Cassidy is the perfect mix of fun and sweetness. She’s a total doll and she’s ready for her forever family — preferably one with a chill doggy sibling, a sense of humor, and a love for backyard soccer. Story
**Now fostered in Portland, OR** Some puppies make life feel lighter — and Endive Lettuce is exactly that kind of pup. Almost 5 months old and currently around 25 pounds, Endive is expected to grow into a medium-sized adult, likely in the 40–50 pound range. He’s already showing the kind of balanced, affectionate temperament that makes daily life with him feel easy and joyful. Based on a sibling DNA test, Endive is believed to be a Catahoula, Pittie, and Husky mix — a smart, athletic blend that thrives with both connection and enrichment. He’s currently living in a house with a yard, which he enjoys, but what matters most for Endive isn’t the square footage. It’s consistent exercise, mental stimulation, and people who enjoy engaging with their dog. Endive would thrive in a home that offers daily walks, playtime, training games, and interactive enrichment. A yard is a bonus, not a requirement — with the right routine and outlets, he could do beautifully in a variety of environments, including more urban settings. He already knows “sit,” takes treats gently, walks well on leash, and does great in his kennel. He’s gentle with younger puppies, respectful with large dogs, and social with kids and adults alike. He reads other dogs well and plays politely, making him a wonderful fit for a multi-dog home or as a solo pup who gets plenty of interaction. Endive loves toys and is a dedicated chewer, so he does best with sturdy, durable toys that can’t be pulled apart, along with tough chews and stuffed frozen Kongs. These help him stay happily occupied and settle quietly in his kennel when left alone. When the day winds down, Endive is all about comfort — curling up by the fireplace, settling in close to his people, and enjoying calm moments just as much as playtime. Endive is the kind of dog who thrives when included — in daily routines, weekend adventures, and cozy evenings at home. Our team carefully matchmakes each dog to ensure the right fit for both the pup and the family. To learn more about Endive and view his full profile, use the link in bio and search his name. Transport from Texas to the PNW, Midwest, and East Coast happens every two weeks. He’s ready for a life that’s active, enriched, and full of love — and he’s going to make someone very happy. Story
Meet Betsy Blue, the wiggly, talkative, piglet-sounding sweetheart you didn’t know you needed in your life. Betsy is about two years old, and while we can’t be certain since she’s a rescue, our best guess is that she’s a Catahoula Leopard Dog and Pittie mix. With her one blue eye and one brown eye, her soft, floppy ears, and her gorgeous coloring, she’s as stunning as she is silly. At first, Betsy can be a little hesitant when meeting new people. She’ll do her signature “drive by bump” just to test you out before deciding you’re worthy of her wiggles. But once she warms up, you’ll see a whole new side of her — joyful, snorty, and downright hilarious. Her foster says she sounds like a piglet when she gets excited, and she’s been known to jump for joy when her favorite people walk into the room. Once you’re in Betsy’s inner circle, you’ll be greeted with wags, wiggles, and plenty of conversation because this girl is a talker. She has no problem letting you know exactly what she wants, exactly when she wants it. See just how loving and silly this girl can be in her video! https://youtu.be/s42gtTUfaQg?si=chzlVTRf8K1Stl5r Betsy is an active girl who loves her walks, and she’s an absolute dream on the leash. She’ll trot right beside you, checking in with sweet eye contact to make sure you’re enjoying yourself as much as she is. Back at home, she’s a toy enthusiast — her favorite playthings are actually small plush cat toys. She’ll toss them into the air, chase them around, and keep herself entertained with the tiniest of stuffies. She’s also a huge foodie, totally motivated by treats, which makes her not only fun but easy to train. Betsy has lived with other dogs in her foster home and, while she can be shy and a little unsure at first, she blossoms once she feels safe. With time and patience, she turns into a playful companion who enjoys running, chasing, and being chased. She’s also done well living with cats, she’s proven herself capable of settling in peacefully with them. She even wrestles with her feline foster siblings!! Dog-savvy cats are definitely the best fit! Because Betsy can be slow to open up to new people, she would do best with a family who understands the beauty of patience. She would thrive in a quieter home where she can truly decompress, gain confidence, and learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. Older kids who can respect her space and let her come around on her own terms would be a great match for her. Once she trusts you, though, Betsy bonds hard. She’ll be your devoted best friend, your walking buddy, your toy-tossing partner, and your snuggly couch companion. Betsy Blue may take a little time to reveal her true self, but once she does, she’s nothing short of irresistible. She’s wiggly, silly, snorty, and incredibly loyal — the kind of dog who will make you laugh every single day while reminding you just how special the bond between a rescue and their person can be. If you’re ready to give her the patience she deserves, Betsy is ready to give you her whole heart. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
