Story
Meet Cuervo! Age: approx 2-3 years. Breed: catahoula/bully mix Size: est 50-55lbs. Training: crate and leash trained, doing well with house training. He lived on a chain before his rescue so he will need guidance. He pulls when leash walking so does best on a harness which we will send home with him. He knows sit and eager to learn more. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to dogs, no cats. Good with men/women/kids? Yes, he loves everyone! Personality: friendly, playful, but can also be laid back. Reason for rescue: abandoned at neuter clinic. He spent most of his life on a chain. Cuervo is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. He was treated for heartworms. If you are interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application. Adoption fee: $75.April 30, 2024, 11:38 am

Story
Sweet sweet sweet boy Behr came to us covered in white paint and infested with all kinds of parasites. He is now healthy and ready to find his forever home. He is a bit over a year old, gorgeous coloring, super friendly, good with other dogs and walks well on a leash. He currently weighs around 55 lbs. If you think this boy could be a great fit in your family, please continue to read and fill out our on line application. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Hi, my name is Cooper!I am a goofy, loving boy looking for my forever home! I have been in the shelter for a while now, but no one can quite understand why. I am very intelligent, cuddly, sweet, and loyal. I do not bark much, but I love to "talk" to my people. My foster mom never understands what I am saying, but I love to make her smile and laugh. I have been abandoned before, so meeting new people can be scary for me. I might bark at new people, but everyone knows that I am just scared. Once you show me love (and some good treats) you will be in my pack for life! I am always excited for an adventure, but I could also happily lay on the couch all day with you. I am highly food-motivated, so training is very easy with me. I am very respectful of rules and boundaries, but I need someone who is going to be respectful of my boundaries too. I am fully house-broken, and can be trusted alone outside of a crate. I would love a forever home with loving people who live a quiet, low-key lifestyle. I need patience with my training and time to allow me to learn how to live a worry-free life. My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! I will also have a free yearly exam and core vaccines for the rest of my life with the Wetness Clinic. What more could you ask for?Our adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Tuesday through Saturday. Please complete an application online and you will be contacted if you are approved and a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.
