Story
Meet Kubler! This sweet, but goofy 2 year old boy is ready for his forever home! He has a happy, go-lucky personality, and lights up like a Christmas tree when it`s time to go for a walk, or get a treat! His tail wags a mile a minute when he`s walking on a leash, and he has the cutest smile! Kubler would need to meet any potential canine friends before going home, as he has a bit of an overzealousness when meeting new dogs. At 51 pounds he`s like a little bowling ball with legs, and it`s just fun to be in his presence. He`s a people friendly boy with a lot of love to offer, and he`ll keep you laughing! Please consider opening a spot on your couch for Kubler, he won`t take up too much room! Come meet him at Anderson County PAWS. Open M, T, Th, F, S 12pm-5pm

Story
I found mocha on the street when he was roughly 2 months old according to the vet. They estimated his date of birth around late november so thanksgiving time. He is very playful and energetic and just needs someone who can take care of him and he has some sort of separation anxiety and loves being around people. I sadly can’t keep him due to extensive military orders with nobody able to watch him

Story
Meet Bongo! Looking for a best friend who marches to the beat of his own drum? Bongo is great with people and enjoys making new friends wherever he goes. He`s also wonderful with other dogs and has a gentle play style, making him a fantastic companion for pups who prefer friendly games over roughhousing. Whether he`s exploring the outdoors or hanging out with his favorite humans, Bongo is happiest when he`s part of the action. His name is Bongo, but don`t worry the only thing he`ll be drumming up is excitement when you walk through the door. (He may also perform an enthusiastic tail solo.) If you`re ready for a loyal, gentle, and handsome adventure buddy, Bongo is waiting to meet you! Come meet Bongo at Anderson County PAWS. We`re open 12-5 PM (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat)

Story
Meet Faith! We believe she is a Catahoula hound mix, about three years old, and 45 pounds of softness and resilience. She has been with us since September, and her story is one we will never forget. When we first saw Faith at Colleton County Animal Shelter, she was dragging a broken front leg and her back legs were not working. The shelter did not have the resources to treat her, and she was at risk of being euthanized. We did not have a plan. We did not have the funds lined up. We just had faith. That is how she got her name. She had surgery on her leg in September and has made a full recovery. Since then, she has been spayed, vaccinated, and completed heartworm treatment. Her body has healed beautifully, and her spirit has followed suit. We do not know what her first few years looked like, but Faith is gentle, sensitive, and reserved. Since November, she has been in a foster home with kids and another dog and has made incredible progress. The timid girl who once froze at everything now leans in for affection. She loves people so much. She will shower you in kisses and then quietly settle beside you like she has always belonged there. She has gained so much confidence outside on the leash and has even discovered that she loves the beach! She is great with other dogs. We joke that she is socially awkward because she is not quite sure how to play, but she tries. You can see her wanting to be brave. Faith may never be the bold, carefree dog who walks into every room with booming confidence, and that is okay. She needs someone who understands sensitive dogs. She can still at times be skittish on leash, and she always feels safest when she and her people are home. A work from home family or someone who spends a lot of time at home would be ideal. She recently started an affordable anxiety medication that has helped her tremendously. She is fully potty trained and crate trained. She is sweet, funny, affectionate, smart, and a little quirky. Catahoula lovers know exactly what that means. Faith does not need perfect. She needs patient. She needs steady. She needs someone who sees how far she has come and chooses to give her enough love to make up for her rough start to life. Whoever adopts her, you are getting an incredible dog. Story
Adoptable River is a 6 year old full blooded Catahoula leopard dog. He is near and dear to our hearts as the founder of our rescue has known River since he was a puppy. His family sadly had to surrender him to our organization when they were faced with drastic unexpected life changes. The good news for River is that he never had to know the hardships of shelter life, but the bad news is that he had his world turned upside down when he had to leave the only family he’s ever known.  River is a large dog, full grown just under 70lbs. Despite never being professionally trained, his previous family did an incredible job with basic obedience. River knows sit, down, and shake. He is crate and potty trained, and walks beautifully with his gentle leader leash. River is very well behaved in the home and on leash walks. His favorite activities with his people are engaging in play with toys or hopping on the couch for snuggles. River has been bonded with a handful of dogs in his life, but we’ve noticed that he tends to do best with dogs who are not dominant. He is currently fostered with many other dogs ranging from small to large, young to old, and gets along great with everyone. He is also great with cats. River is wary of children and would do best in a home with no kids at all, or kids that are 16+. River’s ideal home is one that will be active with him, show the affection and attention he craves, while also providing him with a structured home life. He thrives when he feels like he is pleasing his people, whether it’s practicing his tricks at home, or getting to use his skills out in the real world. He would be totally content as the only dog but may also bond with another dog like he has before. He is content around the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys sharing couch snuggles, toys, and play time. River would also love a fenced yard, although not required, but he would not prefer an apartment or condo type of living. It's hard to summarize how amazing this boy is in just a short bio! He has so much love to give and such a fun and goofy personality. Whoever adopts him is getting a FANTASTIC dog. River is fully vetted, AKA he is up to date on vaccinations, prevention, and is neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped.  Meet and greets and adoption trials are available!
