Story
Daisy is almost 3-years old. She is up-to-date on her vaccinations. She loves to play tug-o-war. She has been in the house with two small dogs. She seems to love playing with human friends as well as her doggy friends. She loves to be outside, but she will also lay chill on the floor indoors. She loves chewing and will even toss the ball to herself sometimes. She will respond to simple commands like "Sit"; "Lay down"; Shake"; "High Five". We have used a wireless fence and she has responded well to it. If desired, we can give you the wireless fence that we have been using.

Story
Josh is a very sweet dog that needs someone who can invest time and training on some normal puppy behaviors (potty training, sit, and down). He enjoys people and socializing. He is low heart worm positive. We have adopted another dog with the same diagnosis and found success in treating the heartworm by keeping them on normal preventive monthly treatment (like advantage multi). Josh is a great dog a very deserving of a good home!

Story
We don't know anything about her history but she is estimated to be around 5-7 years old. She's had puppies before but is now spayed. She is a very skittish, anxious dog. Even though she is comfortable around us she still flinches sometimes when we reach down to pet her. She is 100% house-trained and very smart. If she wants something she is very good at letting you know what it is. She is not the most active dog but does enjoy short walks (although cars driving by freaks her out) and playing with her toys. She's also a pretty quiet dog and only barks if someone knocks on your door or if she gets excited while playing. Unfortunately, she is very reactive to other dogs and while she has mostly been okay with my cat while staying with us there was an incident where she bit my cat so she may be better suited for homes with no pets.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Aren't I gorgeous? I am not a good match for active small children - they make me nervous.Kane's my name - fun's my game. I am a sweet boy, a bit shy at first. I am cautious meeting new people, but once I warm up, I am your best friend.  I am crate trained, although I have never had to spend more than 4 hours in a crate during the day. I know sit and walk great on a leash. My mom is a super hugger, and I know if I sit when she opens my crate, I get an extra big hug and love from her. I love to cuddle.  I am famous for my attack hug.  Just when you least expect it! I need the companionship of another dog to bring out my best adorable personality. I am very smart and will learn quickly. I thrive on positive reinforcement and affection.  I love to play with my foster siblings. My favorite game is chasing the water hose. I am up to date with vaccinations, neutered and microchipped so you can't loose me. I am a bit timid with strangers and will take a little time to adjust to my new home, but I promise to be the best dog ever once I know I can trust you.    Small children scare me, so I would like to have older, considerate children in the home. I am looking for a forever family. Is that you?     aarfhouston.org/forms  =========================================================  Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Story
Meet Sadie! Sadie is the resident athlete of the foster dog pack. This 2 year old, 35lb, leopard-printed girl goes wild for a game of fetch! You won't find a dog who is more serious about fetch than Sadie! Sadie is very smart and loves a new challenge. We think she'd be a great agility course dog! When she's not chasing after a ball, Sadie loves getting attention from people. This girl plays hard but cuddles even harder! She is very affectionate and is a chill on the couch while you watch a movie type of dog. Sadie is a very loyal girl and creates strong bonds with the people she loves. She does great with kids and keeps a watchful eye over the household to make sure everyone is safe. She walks well on a leash and would make a great running buddy! Sadie does well around other dogs and kids and does not seem to care too much about cats. She would thrive best in a home with at least one other dog for her to have as a play buddy. She prefers to be in the company of dogs who understand personal space and boundaries, but is exceedingly patient with those who are still learning this. Sadie is located in Houston, Texas but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story
Meet Addison! Addison is an outgoing, energetic, 6 month old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Basenji mix puppy who loves sharing her opinions with anyone and everyone around! Being a hound dog, she loves to vocalize with you and other dogs to get her point across, if the situation calls for it! Addison was found on the streets of Houston with her sister, Chai, and older brother, Ryder. While Ryder is the main protector of the group in lieu of their mom who was never found, Addie comes in close behind as his backup! A very opinionated puppy, Addie is not afraid to let you know if she doesn't approve of something- whether it be a new toy, your choice of "fashion", or the new boy you brought home. She'll make sure to tell you if she thinks it clashes with her style! Addie is fiercely independent and is not phased by much! She loves the outdoors and has a knack for adventure. However much she tries to convince you that she doesn't need no humans, at the end of a long day she just wants to curl up next to you on the bed for a long snooze. She can be a bit stubborn but she always makes up for it with cuddles and kisses. Addison is good with other dogs, cats, and people of all kind and would do well in most environments/households. She is about 15lbs currently and is expected to get no bigger than 35lbs. Addie is located in Houston, TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested if age appropriate ( + treated if positive), and dewormed prior to adoption.
