Story
🐾 Meet Atlas – Our Longest-Waiting Adventurer 🐾 Atlas is a 4-year-old Catahoula mix who has been in the rescue program for almost 4 years, and we truly don’t understand how this incredible dog is still waiting for his forever home. Atlas is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. And here’s the really cool part—Atlas has competed in THREE OneWorld Canine Biathlons and absolutely crushed it, even placing 2nd in one of his races! 🏅 This dog has both brains and brawn. 📍 Fostered in Huntsville, AL 🐶 Good with dogs 🐱 Cats with conditions 🏃 Adventure-ready & athletic Atlas has waited long enough. He’s loyal, driven, and ready to be someone’s best adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a dog who will truly be your partner in life, Atlas is your guy. 👉 Apply to adopt at www.forrescue.net Rescue: Friends of Rescue 💙

Story
https://foha.org/pet/kobe2025/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Kobe — a pretty chill and sweet guy who’s still getting used to life here. I’m a bit reserved and sometimes cautious around new people, but once you earn my trust, I’m friendly and affectionate. I love my walks and enjoy playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. A calm, single-dog home with an experienced owner who understands me and can continue working on my training will help me thrive. I’m ready to relax and be your loyal companion. HOW AM I WITH DOGS: Best suited for a single-dog home. HOW AM I WITH CATS: Not compatible with cats. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: Good with kids. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: I respond well to “leave it,” “drop it,” and other basic commands, but I need continued consistent training to manage my resource guarding. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: House-trained. Comfortable in a calm, structured environment. THINGS I LIKE: Walks with loose leash, tennis balls, squeaky toys, treats, calm companionship. THINGS I DISLIKE: Resource guarding triggers, sudden approaches without patience, high-value items left unattended. FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS – https://foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies/ ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag starter food, 1 month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical procedures as recommended by our vet.

Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Some dogs come to us with very special needs and BamBam is one of those dogs.  While he is a playful pup full of energy and affection, he is also extremely fearful of the world.  This fear can manifest into making him protective and reactive.  As his anxiety traits present a challenge, a quiet, experienced and patient home is required to address his needs.  He should also be in a home without children or other pets.  Among his many positive qualities, he is quiet, house trained, crate trained, and he will sit nicely and lift his paw for a treat.  He is extremely shy when meeting new people but once BamBam feels comfortable, he will be your loyal companion forever!    **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Upcoming adoption events:                Saturday Feb 14th 12- 3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280-C Hunters Wood Plaza; Reston     Saturday  Feb 21st 12 - 3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 11135 Lee Highway; Fairfax     Saturday Feb 28th 12-3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280-C Hunters Wood Plaza; Reston   We are always desperate for foster homes, now more than ever. If you are interested in fostering, please complete an application... unless you are a previous adopter/foster, then you can just contact us via phone (703-988-2608) or email (adopt@muttloverescue.org) to tell us which dog you want to foster!    For information on sponsoring this dog, please write to adopt@muttloverescue.org.   WE NEED FOSTER HOMES! Story
Maryann showed up at a good Samaritan's house. The good Samaritan brought her to our facility, and we took her in. Well, how could we resist. She was so frightened and scared but is doing much better now. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. Who couldn't resist her face. She is so adorable and she needs a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. The foster that has her now says she is coming out of her shell and is very playful and full of life. She is very curious and so affectionate. She will be great for any family to have as a family member. She is in TN but the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
