You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $600 plus taxI'm so very pleased to meet you!  I'm good with kids and love other dogs. I like to spend my days busying myself with toys and doggie chewies.  I like to stay active too by running and playing in the yard.  However, I usually fit a few naps into my day as well.  After all, who doesn't like a nap?  I'm learning what potty pads are and that I really should go outside to do my dirty business but it takes time to establish those habits.  I love to cuddle with my humans too. I'm searching for a fabulous forever home to share my life and love with! Do you want a great friend to join your family?  Well, adopt me and let's start making lasting memories together! Come meet me and my friends at the 2026 Twin Cities Auto Show! Ask what day I’m attending See all of the animals attending this event.    * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $600 plus taxSummit is an 18-week-old German Shepherd mix who believes the best place to be is right next to you. Sweet, cuddly, and people-focused, this little guy lives up to his name—he loves to climb, and if he’s scaling furniture or obstacles, it’s usually just his creative way of getting closer to his person. Summit is a smart cookie and learns quickly. He knows some basic commands and is food  motivated, which makes training a fun activity. He is learning that his crate is a safe space and settles in nicely after a short adjustment. He may briefly sing you the song of his people (think “tiny hyena”), but once he’s comfortable, he does just fine. He is doing great with house training! He will likely be smaller than your average German Shepherd, making him the perfect size for adventures without the giant-dog footprint. When it comes to friends, Summit is a social butterfly. He loves other dogs, is especially respectful of older pups. He adores humans of all ages—including kids. He’s cat-curious but a[[ears to want to play. He hasn’t lived with feline friends that we know of, but would likely do fine. Summit somehow skipped the classic puppy phase of biting hands and ankles, proving he’s a pretty polite little gentleman. Summit is an agile, affectionate, and joyful puppy who’s ready to grow up alongside a family that will love him as much as he loves them. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with brains, heart, and a touch of playful mischief, Summit may be your perfect match Come meet me and my friends at the 2026 Twin Cities Auto Show!
