Woody is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than gentle belly rubs and cozy evening snuggles. He’s a loving companion with a playful, active side that will keep you smiling. This energetic pup enjoys a couple of walks each day and absolutely lives for fetch, especially with tennis balls. He’ll politely drop the ball near your feet for another throw, but he also has a hilarious habit of entertaining himself by tossing it, catching it, and zooming around in happy circles. He’s a big fan of his toys and is learning to keep his chewing focused on those instead of household items. Woody is fully potty trained and sleeps soundly in his kennel at night. He’s also great for baths and warm-water rinses, making his grooming routine a breeze. He’s an intelligent dog who already knows “sit” and is working on “down.” His leash manners are coming along nicely, and with continued guidance and a patient adopter Woody will blossom into an even more well-mannered, obedient companion. Story
Meet Slick! A handsome Australian Shepherd born 1/2023. He came to NDLB in April 2024 from a breeder release in Missouri. He is very scared and nervous of any human touch. But with time, he should come out of his shell.  He enjoys watching the other dogs in the foster home, but hasn't interacted with them just yet. He hasn't met a cat, so unsure how he would be with that. He is nervous currently, so would recommend older kids at this time. Being a breeder release, he hasn't received any sort of training or how to be "a dog". He is still getting used to being on a leash (he does flail around a bit still so we just go slow). I don't think he has been outside until NDLB as he is unsure what to do. So we are working on potty training.  His fur may be in patches as he was going through demodex mange when he first arrived. This mange is the one that is NOT contagious to humans or any pets. He went through treatment of his foster home having to put two ointments on his skin twice a day.  His eyes are two colored, or Heterochromia, where one is brown and the other is a sky blue.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, dental, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. He does his best sleeping in a room with a human and is accustomed to sleeping on his dog bed, but will wander and be busy all night if allowed. Brock understands basic commands. We are working on maintaining these skills when in stimulating environments, which makes it much harder for him. Brock is a very busy mind and wound benefit from someone with skills or someone who is ready to take on training to help create a physically and mentally stimulating environment. We are focused on leash walking, focusing commands ('look at me') retrieval play, and 'leave it' commands.    Brock is very sweet and wants to be in someone's company. He loves morning snuggles and can be busy for hours playing fetch, walking, or if you are very daring- a little rollerblading.
