Story

Tulane is a shepherd mix who is just looking for a quiet home filled with love. Once he knows he's home and safe he loves nothing more than to nuzzle up close to his people and be held. His happy place is being held, and if he's in your arms he will tolerate just about anything. Tulane is an anxious dog who above all is looking for a relaxed household where he can feel safe, if you give him that, he'll give you his heart. When the world is overwhelming, Tulane knows the best place to find his own inner peace is in a pile of throw pillows. He is regularly found on the couch tucked in between several pillows, in a fort of his own making. To help him get less overwhelmed by the world Tulane takes a daily mental health medicine with his food, he's happy to gobble it right up with his breakfast and then the world is a bit less scary. Tulane is potty trained, crate trained, and not prone to running away, making him ready to fit into his forever home. While he’s friendly with other dogs, Tulane would be best suited to live with a very mellow other dog, or as any only dog. Tulane has a condition called patellar luxation, affecting his kneecap, but its easily managed and doesn't impact his life much. The vet recommends avoiding long walks on pavement, however, this is a blessing in disguise because Tulane doesn't really want to go on walks! He is a homebody who is likely to run and hide when he sees the leash. If you’re looking for an affectionate, and deeply loyal companion who will adore being by your side, Tulane is ready and waiting. Come meet him and you just might find the missing piece of your heart. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 16, 2026, 6:30 pm

Story

Meet Tia — Miss Ears for Days!Meet Tia â¤ï¸ Some dogs make you work to earn their heart. Tia simply hands you hers. This sweet, affectionate girl is still patiently waiting for the family who will finally see just how wonderful she is. Since coming into foster care, Tia has embraced her new life with an open heart—and she’s proving every day that she is truly as easy as they come. Tia absolutely loves her foster siblings and does wonderfully with the three resident Dobermans in her foster home. She has discovered that life is pretty wonderful when it includes plenty of toys, playtime, attention, and people who adore you. And Tia has some serious opinions about toys. Balls are her absolute favorite, but she also has a special collection of “babies” and squeaky toys that she proudly carries around. The best part? She loves her toys without feeling the need to destroy them! She can occasionally be a little selective about sharing her treasures, though, so supervised playtime is recommended. But what really makes Tia shine is how wonderfully easy she is to care for. Bath? No problem. Nail trim? Sure. Dremel? She’s got this. Ear cleaning? Fine by her. Teeth brushing? Go ahead. You can pretty much do just about anything with Tia, and she takes it all in stride. She is a total love bug who thrives on attention, affection, and simply being near her people. Tia does have an old injury to one of her hind feet, so she isn't looking for a life filled with long walks, running, or strenuous adventures. And honestly? She's perfectly happy with that arrangement. Give her a yard to enjoy, some toys to carry around, a cozy place to relax, and a human willing to give her plenty of love, and Tia is one happy girl. She would be an especially wonderful match for a calm, laid-back home where she can settle in, feel safe, and simply be cherished. She has no known experience with cats, so that would need to be taken into consideration by her future family. Tia has also successfully completed her heartworm treatment and continues to improve every day. She is healthy, happy, and ready for the next chapter of her life. And that chapter should be about forever. Tia has already shown us what a loving, loyal, easygoing companion she can be. Now she just needs someone to show her that all this waiting was worth it. Someone who will let her carry her favorite ball around the house. Someone who won't mind sharing the couch with a girl who loves attention. Someone who will appreciate the sweet soul behind those eyes. Someone who will finally say, “Tia, you're home.” Could you be the forever family this beautiful girl has been waiting for? â¤ï¸ This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Our foster families are generally located within a 250 mile radius of Minneapolis, MN. All DRM dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, health checked, microchipped, 4DX tested, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. October 16, 2026, 6:04 pm

Story

Milo was adopted from ARM as a young puppy back in 2018 as part of a litter of Aussie mixes. He has been well loved by his family for almost 7 years now and they are very sad to say he is looking for a new home as he has become stressed around the young toddler in the home and should not be in a home with children under 5. Milo is a very loving and loyal dog to his humans, loves to be pet, and greets everyone with excitement. Milo is a healthy Aussie mix (They are German Shepherd, Cattle Dog, Catahoula Leopard Dog, and finally a little Aussie.) weighing about 75 lbs. He suffered dual broken legs back in 2019 when he ran in front of a vehicle. His injuries healed well with surgery, only showing a slight limp temporarily if he lays in an awkward position for a period of time. As he ages, Milo may need care and monitoring for any issues with the screws in his hip bones and may develop arthritis. At current, he does not have any restrictions for activities and has been healthy and happy ever since. Milo does well with a female dog in the home that he has been with since a puppy and enjoys playing with other dogs outside. He does have a tendency to show resource guarding with other dogs when around food, vying for attention from preferred humans, or in indoor spaces, so he may be best as the only dog or with a female dog. Milo is house trained and does well in a crate. He currently lives in a home that has invisible fencing and does well. He also generally does well off leash and has reliable recall with those he's familiar with. He walks well on a leash. Milo is currently being fostered by his owner in the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities. The details: Need fence: Currently lives with invisible fencing, can be off lead on acreage. Will need some kind of fence in a neighborhood, but likely not needed if on acreage Good with dogs: Does have resource guarding tendencies, may be best as an only dog or with a female dog Good with cats: No known exposure Good with children: Not good with children younger than 5 years old All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dogs and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice, and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.
