This fine gent is named Fiyero, he is a sweet guy and a giant fluff ball. He was a stray for about a week and no owner stepped up or came forward. He can be cautious at first but once he realizes you mean well, he’s all about you! One of our volunteers took him inside cause he was out in the cold  and he’s done well. Definitely has things to learn, we are unsure if he was dumped but its possible. So far he has met some other pups and the cat through the kennels and hasn’t reacted really, just seems unsure. He appears to be one that will need slow introductions! He enjoys toys and his favorite show is Clifford! Fiyero enjoys being out side and  will jump up and hug you also! So far he has not had accidents inside and is crate and leash trained. Who can give this fella his forever home so he can continue… dancing through life! We do believe Fiyeros adopter needs solid experience with German Shepherds! When she first came to us, she had almost no hair, was suffering from severe flea dermatitis and mange, and was nursing two babies with painfully red skin. Her engorged nipples told the story of her dedication to her pups despite everything. Now, just look at her! Calliope is a happy, smiling, joyful girl who absolutely loves people, especially her human, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs and kids. She’s a gentle, affectionate sweetheart who greets everyone with a warm, loving hug. Calli is about 1 year and 9 months old, weighs 55 lbs, and is fully vetted, healed, and ready for her forever home. Her ideal family has a big, secure fenced yard because Calliope can and will jump a four-foot fence! On leash, she’s mostly well behaved, with just a little pulling, but overall, she’s perfect. If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a heart full of love, Calliope is the one. Reach out today to meet her. Online Adoption Application › Boone was found wandering in Richmond County, NC with severe injuries.  He has buck shot in his neck and is unable to put weight on his front left leg.  We think he was possibly hit by a car and then targeted by hunters Despite all this, Boone is an affectionate and sensitive dog.  He loves people and just wants to be comforted.  He is clearly in a lot of pain but it tolerating it while we wait for the antibiotics to do their thing and for ortho to consult on his leg. It is possible we may have to amputate-- but we will do whatever is in his best interest.   Boone is a staff favorite at Walnut Street Animal Hospital.  He is great with other dogs and loves kids.  They estimate he is ~2 years old and 60 lbs. It breaks our hearts that someone could have treated such a beautiful, gentle creature so poorly.
