Story
I am looking for a perfect fit for my sweet boy; His name is Atlas he is a “Shepherd Mix” estimated between 1-3 years old based off of what the KC Pet Project told us. He would do best in a home as a single dog (not sure how he would do with another dog as I don’t have one) with parents who either have a backyard or multiple long walks a day. We originally adopted him looking to be his forever home however my resident cat does not get along with him and it’s not fair to either of them to keep him in a kennel or have to put my cat up to have him out. He is a bundle of energy and the sweetest pup ever. He loves belly rubs and cuddles and loves to run around the house. He deserves so much better, he deserves the world. He loves car rides especially if it ends with him in a pup cup, going to a park, or seeing people. Since getting him we’ve taught him most basic commands like Sit, Lay Down, Stay, Speak, Shake, Around. He is so smart and very food motivated and a very quick learner.

Story
This is Koa. She’s 7 years old (DOB 1/28/19). We adopted her when she was a puppy and she’s been with us ever since. She is a herding dog and tends to nip when she gets excited but has never truly bitten anyone or broken skin. However, we have a 3 year old in the house and are worried for our daughter’s safety as she gets older and more rowdy. Koa really should not be trusted around kids but has been fine around other dogs and cats. She really is the sweetest dog but has a bit of anxiety and is very protective. There is a picture of the DNA test we did when we got her. She is spayed and microchipped. House trained, knows commands, and has an awesome recall. She is up to date on her rabies vaccine. We think she would do best on a farm or at least somewhere with land. We are planning on keeping her until we can find the right home. If you’re interested please reach out and we can set up a meeting!

Story
Location-Wayside Waifs Campus My Friends at Wayside say: -I am from a puppy mill situation. I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. I have lived with other dogs but have not socialized with people. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding, but I need time to learn. -I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me.My home needs are: -I am more confident when a have a dog friend with me. Wayside recommends meeting resident dogs to make sure we can be buddies.-I have to meet you with another dog present. Wayside recommends that it be the resident dog in the home.-If you have kids in the home 9 years old and younger, I will need to meet them since I can be nervous around new people and loud noises. -I am more confident when I have another dog around. I must go to a home that has a social resident dog already.-For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.Hi, I am Paisley,I am the sweetest 7 year old you will ever meet. I am a great size at 21 pounds. I am a sweet, shy girl who is just learning about life `on the outside`. I can be fearful of new things and new experiences. I want to be near people and I love other dogs. I will need a patient adopter who can help me learn about the world. With a little time and patience, I`m sure to make a lovely friend!I have made a lot of progress on walking on a leash. Some of my friends helped me learn to do it and we now go for walks. I love to go on long, sniffy walks. Are you looking a walking buddy? I would love to walk with you. Here at the shelter, I really like other dogs! I like to follow them around and cuddle. I love to chase them around the yard. I would do well with other calmer, social dogs. What do you think? Am I the girl for you? I would love to meet you. Will you stop by soon?Love, Paisley
