Story
Callie is a sweet 2-year-old cavapoo. I adopted her from a rescue group, and they received her as a breeder-release, so she was unsocialized and kept in a crate prior to the rescue. She has NO aggression towards people or other dogs. I've had Callie for six months but she really needs to be in a home with a fenced backyard. She is terrified of leashes, and she does not know how to use steps. She freezes and startles easily on the leash, so she's been using puppy pads inside. She is not accident prone and will use the puppy pads. (When we visited family with a fenced yard, she enjoyed running around and had no accidents inside all weekend.) She will need time to adjust and will need her "safe space" as she's learning a new environment. She is VERY timid and needs time. I would absolutely keep her, but I have attempted the leash for six months without success, and I know she needs that fenced in yard to feel safe outside and leash-free.
