Story
Rocket is the dream dog that will take you to the moon and back. He has been in a wonderful foster home who has been working on his training and growth, they have the following to say:
In the 2 months that he’s been in foster, Rocket has made incredible strides in his learning and will easily become a wonderful addition to any adoptive home. While shy at first, Rocket quickly warms up to people who are calm, offer structure, and give him lots of treats and play. A potential family should keep in mind that he is still training – he can jump and run with lots of energy, but with the correct guidance, Rocket becomes the perfect people dog. His foster has introduced him to people of all age groups, including young kids (3- to 12-year-olds) and adults of all shapes and sizes without incident.
Through his training, Rocket has shown that he can pick up lots of behaviors quickly. People who work with him should give him lots of treats (Rocket fuel) and play to build trust and confidence while any training is ongoing. Rocket is housebroken, crate trained and has already picked up many of the basics (e.g., sit, down, offering paws, jumps and spins) and handling (paw handling, opening mouth, bathing) behaviors. That said, there is still lots for him to learn! His foster thinks that continuing his training around other dogs and distractions can help build his focus. Some things he can work on are learning to focus on his human when around distractions and avoiding roughhousing when playing with other dogs. With the proper attention and care, Rocket will shine in whatever life he finds himself in – either as a working dog, a service animal, or a wonderful family companion.
Rocket is a soul that is athletic, attentive, incredibly smart and very sweet. He is loved dearly by his foster and everyone he meets, who only wish for Rocket to have the best life with an amazing family.
