Story
Meet Nube who is looking for a home. Nube is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nube is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nube hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nube is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nube is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
Patricio is the absolute perfect love bug. He has a sweet gentle disposition – he is lovely with everyone he meets. He has a joyful spring in his step when he sees people, and he also happily finds joy in any toy that might come his way, finding his own happiness in the little things. He likes to gather shelter toys and put them near his bed, revelling in the joy of having anything good come his way. Patricio is about 4 years old. He is good with dogs and cats, and walks nicely on leash (including past cows, chickens, bikes and trucks). Patricio is a lovely and compact 38 lbs. His quiet happiness also means he’s not much of a barker – rather he watches the world happily waiting for his next chance at affection. He likes to crawl into your soul for cuddles. Patricio is a distemper survivor who has a slight tic in his jaw as a result. This brave boy not only survived distemper, but hasn’t let that impact his happiness. Whoever gets this little man is very lucky. Patricio is medium energy – happy to accompany you whenever and wherever. Check him out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DRTWFowkZ0P/ If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. They suspect she may have been used for breeding and was subjected to having her tail docked. When they no longer wanted her they just left her to fend for herself. Yesenia reads people well and likes to be comforted by them. Yesenia prefers male dogs and isn’t a fan of cats. She is spayed and vaccinated, weighing a perfect 45 lbs. Story
Meet Lucille, a 2 year old Labrador! Lucille was captured by urban management in November 2024. Back then she was skinny as bones and had a skin condition. Now she is all healed up and with a foster family. At her foster family's, Lucille has learned lots - she walks great on leash, loves to cuddle with her humans, and gets along great with other dogs! Lucille is just such a love bug! Lucille does have a slight condition - when she is overly excited or in a new environment, she will occasionally clatter her mouth. We have done testing on her but have found nothing wrong psychologically or physically. The doctors believe they are idiopathic tremors. She is currently on meds but condition has not worsen or improved. This will stay with Lucille her entire life, and may evolve into epilepsy in the worst case scenario. She is currently in China, but available to fly to you in the coming months. Please send us an email if you are interested in learning more about Lucille and our adoption process!

Story
Nala is a sweet and friendly 4-year-old girl who has been waiting far too long—she’s spent over two years at the shelter, hoping someone will finally see how special she is. Medium-sized and full of heart, Nala is social, affectionate, and always ready to greet you with a happy tail wag. She loves going for walks, spending time with people, and just being part of whatever you’re doing. Nala would thrive in a home where she gets the love, attention, and companionship she’s been missing for so long. After all this time, she truly deserves a second chance. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, consider Nala—she might just be your perfect match. This sweet dog is currently soaking up the sun in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, but is ready to fly north to join their forever family! While we can’t offer an in-person meet-and-greet, we’ll work with you every step of the way—and you’ll just need to meet them at the airport when they land, tail wagging and ready to love you!

Story
Hi friends! My name is Lexi and here's my details: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Mixed Lab Age: 1 year approx. Gender: Female Weight: 40 lbs (18 kg) Current Location: Vancouver, BC RESCUE STORY - I was adopted at 3 months old from Cortez Rescue in Baja and moved to Canada. Unfortunately, my adopters couldn't give me the leadership and guidance I need and decided to give me up instead. I can't even believe it! I'm a good, sweet girl that needs to learn a few more things, but I'm still such a young gal and would love to learn from my new leader, my new family. I've been working with a trainer at TT Animal Rehabilitation and Therapy in Parksville, BC and she would tell you I'm a lovely girl, and with the right support, will thrive in a new home. With good leadership and continued positive reinforcement I will continue to be an amazing companion and forever loyal family member. If you'd like to meet me (I'm a local gal!), please give us a heads up and something can be arranged!  TEMPERAMENT - It takes me a bit to warm up to new people. However, once I am around you and become familiar, I'm superrr cuddly and an affectionate companion! I definitely need proper introductions to new people (which can be demonstrated here and here) as well as time to get to know you. But I promise it's worth it as I really am the most loving girl! ENERGY LEVEL - Medium  GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – My trainer does not recommend me for a household with small children - teenagers are okay. Dogs – Yes! I absolutely love other dogs and would do great as a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd dog. See me here playing!  Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – I'm a work in progress but I've been leash walking good with my trainer and you can see in videos here and here.   House trained – Sure am! Crate trained –  Yup my first family crate trained me.  Car rides – Unknown and I may need some additional training and patience.  HEALTH NOTES: I have been spayed and am current on all my vaccinations including monthly flea/tick medication. I am also microchipped!  NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD ($750.00 + PST and GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed.
