Story
One year old, black lab cross, Candy is looking for a home! She weighs approximately 35 lbs. Sadly she lived her early life tied down outside the property of the people who owned her, and barely fed her. She survived off food brought to her by a neighbour trying to help her, and begged the owners to free her. Finally Candy made it into shelter and was freed from her shackles. Now it’s time for her to find a real family. Candy has a light limp in one leg – its been assessed (and xrayed) and they believe it may be some nerve damage from an old injury. That doesn’t stop Candy from enjoying life. She is a favourite amongst other dogs at the shelter – even the dogs a bit pickier about friends enjoying playing with her and she is good with cats. Candy is medium energy. She’s tentative with strangers, especially men, which isn’t a surprise considering her early life. She likes to remind motorcycles, donkies and horses to back off so she'll keep you safe from them. Candy would love a yard to call her own! Candy is spayed and vaccinated. Candy is at our sister sanctuary but available to fly to BC or Alberta. If you think you might be fit or interested in fostering, you can email pvcaadoptions@gmail.com with any questions, or go direct to our application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw. Story
Meet Lucille, a 2 year old Labrador! Lucille was captured by urban management in November 2024. Back then she was skinny as bones and had a skin condition. Now she is all healed up and with a foster family. At her foster family's, Lucille has learned lots - she walks great on leash, loves to cuddle with her humans, and gets along great with other dogs! Lucille is just such a love bug! Lucille does have a slight condition - when she is overly excited or in a new environment, she will occasionally clatter her mouth. We have done testing on her but have found nothing wrong psychologically or physically. The doctors believe they are idiopathic tremors. She is currently on meds but condition has not worsen or improved. This will stay with Lucille her entire life, and may evolve into epilepsy in the worst case scenario. She is currently in China, but available to fly to you in the coming months. Please send us an email if you are interested in learning more about Lucille and our adoption process!

Story
8+ year-old  Maisie is the sweetest, most easygoing, adorable 4-legged companion you’ll ever meet! Our little princess has been getting the TLC she needed over the past couple of months, and now she’s thriving and ready to find her forever home! She’s the sweetest thing with a happy and positive disposition. Her current foster has never had a dog with such an easy-going temperament. She loves exploring the neighborhood, snoozing on the couch, eating treats of any type, and hanging out at the park with her doggie friends. We just recently learned that our girl is friendly around cats… Just like most dogs curious on the walks but at home environment she’s very chill and happy to coexist!. She is proud of her figure, having shed those excess pounds with a healthy diet and exercise—no Ozempic for our girl.   Maisie has Horner’s syndrome, a non-painful condition that causes her face to droop slightly on one side. Far from a flaw, it only adds to her charm, making her even more lovable. She drools a bit—so if you’re the type who wears Dior, owns snow-white couches, or panics if some slobber touches your cashmere throw, this girl is probably not for you. But if you value personality over perfection, she's ready to bless your home with her quirky, lovable self.   If you like to meet Maisie in person, please help us learn more about you and your household by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow Or text us:  (408)431-6954October 29, 2025, 10:45 am

Story
Nala is a sweet and friendly 4-year-old girl who has been waiting far too long—she’s spent over two years at the shelter, hoping someone will finally see how special she is. Medium-sized and full of heart, Nala is social, affectionate, and always ready to greet you with a happy tail wag. She loves going for walks, spending time with people, and just being part of whatever you’re doing. Nala would thrive in a home where she gets the love, attention, and companionship she’s been missing for so long. After all this time, she truly deserves a second chance. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, consider Nala—she might just be your perfect match. This sweet dog is currently soaking up the sun in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, but is ready to fly north to join their forever family! While we can’t offer an in-person meet-and-greet, we’ll work with you every step of the way—and you’ll just need to meet them at the airport when they land, tail wagging and ready to love you!

Story
Jennie is about 1.5 years old, born in early 2024. She was rescued by a private shelter along with 20 other dogs from a slaughterhouse when she was around 9 months old. Due to the shelter’s limited funds, she couldn’t be spayed in time and eventually became pregnant. In December 2024, she safely gave birth to five beautiful puppies. After lovingly raising them, she was finally spayed. Jennie stayed at the private shelter for about a year, watching four of her puppies get adopted while she remained behind with her last daughter, Madeleine. Later, both Jennie and Madeleine were transferred to our Dream Tails Training Facility by a trainer who had adopted one of Jennie’s other daughters. Despite the harsh start to her life, Jennie is a bright, affectionate, and loving dog. You’d never guess what she’s been through—she adores people and will fall in love with you within minutes of meeting. She walks nicely on a leash with minimal pulling and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and both sexes. Jennie is incredibly cuddly and loyal—she’ll always choose your affection over treats. And when she walks, her ears bounce with every step, making her one of the most endearing dogs you’ll ever meet. Now, Jennie is looking for a family who will give her the chance to settle, learn, and experience life as a true family member. She has never lived inside a home before, so everything will be new to her—but with patience and love, she’ll adapt beautifully.
