Story
We rescued Astro from the Milpitas humane society some time last year when he was just a puppy. Astro is a roller coaster of fun and learning experiences. He is a very good boy indoors with all kinds of tricks up his sleeve wether its setting up between your legs ready to walk with you through the busy streets or keeping eye contact till he gets his treat! If you want a lil challenge in your life come say hi! Unfortunately we don’t have enough time on our hands to spend with Astro due to something that’s been taking most of our time and we’ve noticed it’s been affecting Astro slowly but surely. We want him to have the freedom and the attention any dog deserves like long walks outside so he can get used to the world , he can be a little rowdy when we are on walks such as when he notices something in the distance and he’s adamant on figuring out what it is or when he sees another dog . Astro is coachable and he is friendly after the first interaction!

Story
Meet Pollo, The American Muscle Muppet (Extra-strong edition)! This muppet is best enjoyed with a harness and a sense of humor Pollo is a large, strong (~75 lb) and energetic boy who needs an experienced, confident handler. He’s eager to get out and explore but pulls hard on leash, so a harness is required—once harnessed, he does better on calm, sniffy walks in low-traffic areas. In the kennel, Pollo can be noisy and over-stimulated when there’s lots of activity, but he settles when things are quieter. He may alarm bark at the front of his kennel yet happily comes out once he sees the leash. With people, he’s more independent than cuddly—he tolerates handling well and was cooperative for veterinary care, though he can be sensitive during harnessing with some individuals.Pollo is very interested in other dogs and can become over-aroused (jumping, fence running, barking), but he is not aggressive. Due to his rowdy play-style, `hormonal` tendancies, he’s currently not in playgroup and may do best as an only dog or with another dog who can give appropriate corrections. Pollo isn’t big on toys or treats, but he knows “sit,” is easy to return to his kennel, and has lots of personality. With structure, patience, and the right setup, Pollo could thrive as a loyal companion for someone who can match his strength and energy.

Story
01/16/26Shiloh is an intelligent and alert dog who is highly engaged with his environment and very affiliative with humans. He is tolerant and affectionate with handlers and enjoys interaction once out of the kennel. Shiloh is highly motivated by other dogs and can become fixated or reactive, especially in shelter settings or when passing adjacent dogs, but he is able to calm with structure, distance, and gradual exposure. He would thrive in an experienced home as the only dog, where he can receive consistent guidance, mental stimulation, and positive outlets for his energy.01/12/26 12:33Volunteer notes: ` Shiloh is a dog who appreciates receiving affection from his handler. When in the play yards with a volunteer he is happy to chase after balls and toys (returning item is an opportunity). He knows sit and stay. He has lived with a smaller dog.` 01/04/26What did we do on today’s adventure:Today was such a fun day! I went on another big adventure! We went to the park, and I even got to walk in the rain. Then I saw a RAINBOW—so beautiful! I sniffed everything and left some very important messages along the way.I still felt a little unsure when people ran past me sometimes, but my friend told me everyone was friendly. We kept a bit of distance, and I did a really good job staying calm. When I saw other doggy friends, I chose to keep some space so I could enjoy my walk peacefully. I got lots of praise from my friend, and that made me so happy! What should potential adopters know about me:Shiloh is a 5-year-old handsome boy with a big heart and a strong bond to his people. Outside the shelter environment, Shiloh shows his best self: he enjoys calm walks, loves attention and settles nicely when given structure and clear guidance. He is a strong dog with generally good leash manners, though he can pull with enthusiasm when something really catches his interest—something that improves greatly with structure and treats. Shiloh can be reactive to other dogs and may become overly excitedby fast-moving people, especially if surprised from behind. With space, awareness, and structure on walks, this is very manageable. These behaviors do not define who he is at home or with his trusted people. When given support and predictability, he does very well and prefers a quieter, more structured lifestyle. What truly makes Shiloh stand out is how deeply he connects with his person. He is highly treat-motivated, smart, and eager to lis
