Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi there! My name was originally Kimberly, but I go by Angel now! I’m about 10 1/2 years old, and I’m probably a Lab/ Hound Mix. I’m very sweet and I love to get pets & attention — whenever you come home after a long day, just know I’ll be so happy and excited to see you! True to my Hound instincts, one of my favorite things to do is to sniff anything and everything out there! I like going on walks (about a mile), and you’ll usually find me with my nose to the ground the whole time! I love to explore the world! They tell me I’m extremely “food-motivated” and that I’d stop literally any behavior if I hear a treat bag open, and...that’s true, but can you blame me? Treats are great! I do love all kinds of food but especially my own food, and I tend to resource-guard, so I like having my own designated space. I’m not really interested in chewing on things (toys or otherwise), except for treats! I’d love to be the only dog in my forever home, but I can get along with other dogs, and have been around small kids for most of my life (and done great with them!). I do really well in a crate for bedtime overnight or while you’re out of the house (and I like hanging out there during the day sometimes too!), it’s my safe space. ** Angel has completed her heartworm treatment and is doing really well! She’s back up to full energy and wants to explore the world! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. April 26, 2024, 9:40 am

She will be complete her board and train  on March 17th.  This is perfect time for her to join her new forever family.  Her ideal forever home will have other playful dogs, older kids (as she still jumpy), a home who is committed to spending time training her and keeping her socialized. She is briefly hesitant to new people and easily surprised. She loves cuddling and belly rubs once she gets her playtime in. Does great with other dogs, will chase foster kittens. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. We call him Gus Gus. Gus and his sister were found in an abandoned lot in Detroit living outside, braving the elements. He was so grateful to be rescued and are now looking for his permanent family. Gus is a sweet and lovable young guy. He’s doing great on house training and crate training. He would much rather be right next to you, but he goes in his crate with little complaint and spends the night quietly. Gus is very interested in the cat and will give chase but seems to be more interested in playing than anything else. Gus is still young and puppyish so he does like to chew. He’s easily redirected to chew on his own toys but will get into other things if they’re left accessible to him. He is medium energy, meaning that he loves to play with people and other dogs, but settles down nicely. He likes other dogs and his easy-going after a proper introduction. Gus likes to go outside and play with the other dogs but he doesn’t like to be out there too long and never wants to spend another cold night outside.
