Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi there! My name was originally Kimberly, but I go by Angel now! I’m about 9 years old, and I’m probably a Lab/ Hound Mix. I’m very sweet and I love to get pets & attention — whenever you come home after a long day, just know I’ll be so happy and excited to see you! True to my Hound instincts, one of my favorite things to do is to sniff anything and everything out there! I like going on short walks (less than half a mile), and you’ll usually find me with my nose to the ground the whole time! I love to explore the world, but also get tuckered out if I go any longer than that, but it’s ok — it’s plenty for me. They tell me I’m extremely “food-motivated” and that I’d stop literally any behavior if I hear a treat bag open, and...that’s true, but can you blame me? Treats are great! I do love all kinds of food but especially my own food, and I tend to resource-guard, so I like having my own designated space. I’m not really interested in chewing on things (toys or otherwise), except for treats! I’d love to be the only dog in my forever home, but I can get along with other dogs, and have been around small kids for most of my life (and done great with them!). I do really well in a crate for bedtime overnight or while you’re out of the house (and I like hanging out there during the day sometimes too!), it’s my safe space. &#226&#128&#139 ** Angel is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and will need to stay in a relaxed environment for the next couple of months. She’s being a trooper through all of it, and we’re so proud of her!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. September 26, 2023, 8:20 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, please let me introduce myself, my name is Sarah and I am a Lab/Jack Russell Terrier. I am house trained and crate trained, and love to go on walks and sniff around a securely fenced backyard.  Did I tell you that its me that pick all the tomatoes from the plants in the yard ? I am also spayed and have had all of my shots. Sarah was abused by her first human family, so she finds it hard to trust new people and has fear aggression. It will take time to gain Sarah's trust and multiple meetings.  She needs an owner that can give her guidance (and plenty of treats) in situations when she feels insecure. After meeting a trainer Sarah have improved a lot and she responds to her special verbal command.  A training class would be a great adventure for Sarah and her new family. She will excel and perform as an A-student, she likes to learn and is eager to please. Building a relationship with Sarah will be time well spent, once she has overcome her insecurity and fear she is a GREAT active, loyal, and loving dog.  Please come and meet me,  I need is a chance to find my permanent home. Older children only pleas e.    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, I am Charlie Brown! I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my specific needs. I am an independent little guy but I love snuggles on the couch and being close to my person(‘s) when it is time to relax! I am good with other dogs and would do great with a buddy but am also great on my own and getting all the loves to myself! I am potty trained and know my basic commands. I am a very loving and kind dog. I am smart and learn very quickly! I am pretty much bomb proof! Noises do not bother me, fire works included! I will need a human that has a fence because being a beagle mix, my nose hits the ground and I just want to follow that scent! I have been working super hard on my leash skills! But I will need a human who can continue to work with me so we can go on adventures together! Being outside is the best thing in the world to me and finding new smells is amazing to me too! I would win first prize in any scent training sport!!) Children 13 and up are recommended! I can get a little excited about going outside and may knock over the little ones! I would love to learn more about the world and how great it is! If you would like to be my new adventure partner, I would be very happy to meet you Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption.
